OLIVIA

We just stare at each other for a few seconds. His face shocked but he easily brushes it off almost immediately, making his face impassive.

He's not alone, two men stand beside him, one older and with greying hair. If I had to guess, he's Daniels father. His tux is clean cut and his tie matches the silver on the sides of his hair. He looks very proper, very tall and very intimating. I would not want to cross this man.

The other guy with them looks so familiar to me, like I've met him before but I can't place it. My guess is, he's Daniels older brother, Johnny? I think his name was. He's kind of the complete opposite to Daniel though. Despite their similar facial features, they have different colour hair. This guy has blonde while Daniel has Dark brown. Their bodies are also different. They are the same height but Daniel is more fuller and muscular while his brother is leaner. They are both equally handsome. All three of them actually. They must have very good genes in the family.

Mr Errington stands to greet the three men shaking hands and exchanging friendly smiles. Daniel flicks his eyes my way every now and then but doesn't say anything to me. He just dutifully speaks to Zoeys father like he's known him for years.

Zoey and I seem to become invisible to the four men for a minute while they talk business so I turn back around in my seat and take a sip of the champagne glass that Zoey stole off a waiters tray.

"So... Daniels here," Zoey whispers in my ear.

I roll my eyes, "yeah Zo, I can see." I take another gulp of champagne. I'm really not in the mood for any of this.

"Doesn't he look so hot? Fucking kicking myself for not going after him. Instead, my dumb ass went for Eric." It's her turn to roll her eyes.

"Yeah," I agree, looking straight ahead of me. I want to change the subject to something other than him.

But as usual, she doesn't stop. "No like seriously, maybe I should ask him out? Maybe talk to him tonight?" For some reason my blood boils at her comment and I find myself gripping the glass so hard that I'm surprised it doesn't shatter. "I mean, when I've spoken to him in the past he's been all broody and shit but he looks approachable tonight."

There's no way he'd go for her. Not even tonight. At least I don't think he would.

God, I have no right to be jealous and territorial over Daniel. We barely did anything. Yes, I had a great time with him but he's now shown me his true colours by throwing me aside and ignoring me. So it's whatever, Zoey can have him.

"Do what you want Zoey. Go pursue him if you really want to." I say but it tastes bitter on my tongue.

She gives me a weird look. "Are you sure?"

"Why would you need my permission?" I question.

"No reason. I just wanted your opinion," she replies, shrugging her slender shoulders.

"Yeah, Zoey. You should definitely go talk to him. Chat him up and see where it goes," I grind out. I wanna punch myself for even saying this to her. I don't want her to be with him like that but I know that I have no right to tell her not to.

"Yay! I will," she says cheerfully and I let out a small sigh.

She changes the subject of the conversation and we talk for a bit until Mr Errington retakes his seat. Daniel, his father and brother also take their seats.

I realise then that the name tag next to my seat is Johnathon Easton, and next to his is Daniel and Fredrick Easton.

I release a breath of relief. His brother is next to me. Not him.
