"Leave them alone!" Adam yelled. "I know you had never liked me much, but you don't need to take it out on them!"
Kevin turned around, his face clear with annoyance before masking it with a smirk. "And what if we want to, Adam?"
Adam's face darkened. "The Amicabiliter's never going to be okay with this."
Kevin made a manic crackle. "How can you be so sure about that? I've checked the rule book over a thousand times. There was nothing about having some fun with some lower levels," he turned back to Suji and made a sly smile that sent shivers through her body. "I'm at level 975."
"How did you manage to take control of my powers, anyway?" Adam asked immediately, trying to switch Kevin's attention away from her.
Kevin turned back again and made another sly grin while he pretended to think about it. "Let's just say... I've gotten some help."
"My powers," a boy announced next to a corner, "Mixed with Harim's."
Harim stood in a corner next to the other boy, nodded as a greeting. This boy was wearing a pair of baggy clothes with a checkered top, matching with the other boy. The only difference between the two was that Harim had brown skin and the other boy had pale Asian skin and that the Asian skinned boy had a pair of big round glasses.
"My powers are to delete another person's power," Harim explained. "And Andy's," he paused to nod in acknowledgment at the boy standing beside him, "Are to copy another's power after he sees it. And..."
Kevin interrupted him with a burst of laughter. "Now, now, Harim, we don't have to list ALL of our powers, don't we?"
"You'll never get away with this," Adam warned.
"It's against the rules for the Amicabiliter to get an innocent person who had never broken a single rule," Kevin said slyly. "And Adam, I think you are too loud. Andy?"
Andy fixed his glasses and gave him a slight nod. He raised a pale palm and clutched it into a fist in front of him. Adam yelped in pain as the roots tightened around him and scrunched his face up.
"ADAM!" Calla cried, fighting the roots and trying to get to the boy.
"Don't move too much, hon," Kevin cooed as he walked to her. "He'll be fine. However, the more you twist, it's going to hurt."
Calla's face twisted with disgust as she tried to squirm away from the boy. Kevin made a cackle and yanked her face to face him.
"Hmm... nice eyes, you got there," he noted.
"GET AWAY FROM ME!" Calla yelled.
"Hush, it's not going to do any help when you scream like that," he chuckled. "I'm at a level higher than you. You need to respect me."
Calla made a disgusted face and pulled away from him. "What if I don't?"
Kevin's eyes flashed with hunger. "That's against the rules, hon. You don't want to do ANYTHING against the rules."
Calla winced and bit her lips tightly.
Suji squeezed her eyes shut. She hated being helpless, which was the exact situation happening. It felt as if she was trapped. As if an invisible barrier appeared in front of her. As if Suji was trying to punch through the wall but couldn't succeed. It was like she was imprisoned inside a bleak of darkness. Suji waited for Calla's voice to come out again, but instead, she heard a slow clapping.
Clap... clap... clap...
Suji peeked her eyes open, confused. Who would clap at a situation like this?
