3rd POV
???
Night

It was the dead of night, no light was found to illuminate the pitch black veil as not even the new moon could pierce it with its soothing glow.

The sound of rustling leaves and snapping twigs make themselves known. From out in the distance, the vision deprivating darkness is broken by dancing white beams of light.

That's when the Speedwagon Foundation emerged from the darkness as one of them halted his teammates and checked his radio.

Proof: "Sir, Dirty Dozen reporting in. We have found no signs of danger as of yet but one of my forward scouts has not reported in. I request permission to move forward in search of him."

Qrow: "Permission granted D12. Try not to get killed, alright? I still need you around to protect.... sigh... Codename: Beacon Crusaders."

Proof: "Of course. D12, out."

Lost Footage

Proof: "Swift, any movement on his tracking beacon?"

The grizzled leader of the Dirty Dozen asked his second in command.

Swift: "He hasn't moved at all, Sir. Either he's camping out, abandoned his equipment, or worse."

Proof: "Then we have no time to lose, how far till we reach his location?"

Swift: "The good news is that we're coming up on his beacon now."

Proof: "Good. Bizarre take point."

Bizarre: "Sir!"

The fearsome quintet make their way into an abandoned village after some time. They entered past a gate to see unfinished buildings, potential vantage points in the scaffolding surrounding said buildings. It seems like a perfect place to camp out and that's what worries them. There's no sign of their comrade or any other form of life.

Proof: "Crank up the brightness on your flashlights, spread out, and look for Bugs."

The rest of D12 nodded off and scanned the unfinished village from top to bottom and side to side. Nothing of note came up until they finally came across their missing teammate. Incapacitated and unresponsive.

Conniver: "Holy shit, it's Bugs! Porter! Porter, come here! Porter!"

The young rookie medic answered the call for help and rushed to the scene. She knelt down and began inspecting her fallen ally for any abnormalities. It turns out that calling them abnormalities is putting it lightly with what Porter found.

After shining some light with her flashlight, Porter found Bugs' veins visible all over his face and his hands, it wouldn't be surprising if they were visible all over his body too. They looked like they could burst at any second but the weird thing that really threw Porter for a loop was the fact that his veins were pitch black.

Porter: "Bugs? You there? Come on, wake up."

Porter gave her friend a couple of light slaps to the cheek to stir some sort of reaction. She went to check his pulse and it was very faint. If somebody weren't paying attention they would think he's actually dead.

Conniver: "How is he?"

Porter looked on somberly.

Porter: "Not good. There's a very distinct smell to him. His veins are an unnatural color and are ready to pop, his pulse is weak, there's a large pool of saliva built up on the ground and that could mean he went through a seizure. All I have left to check is his eyes."

Porter moved on to Bugs' eyes and got medic bingo. They were inflamed and dry. Actually, inflamed is too nice a word, his eyes were blood red. He's lucky he hasn't been crying because who knows what he would've cried out instead of tears.
