It was early in the morning and humming could be heard in the kitchen with pans sizzling. Taeyong was cooking breakfast with a smile on his face. He's been in a good mood since he went in a break, leaving the vet for a while to spend time with his family, specifically with his boyfriend.

Taeyong plated the breakfast while he swayed his hips on the music that was on his head. He poured tea on two cups and placed them on the table behind him then saw his boyfriend coming into the kitchen.

"Good morning, Jae. Come and sit down, I just finished cooking," Taeyong uttered happily.

Jaehyun sat down and grabbed a cup to sip on his tea. Taeyong came behind him and fixed his messy bed hair, earning a hum from the hybrid. Jaehyun does like it when his boyfriend pats, caresses or rubs his head, combing his hair.

"So, it's the New Year's Eve later," Taeyong started.

"Yeah and...?"

"Come with me to the party later. Our friends will be there," the boy said and sat on the chair beside the man.

Jaehyun placed his cup down before he looked back at Taeyong. The boy looked back at him with big eyes, confused why his boyfriend is looking at him like something is wrong.

"Speaking of friends, I want to know why you guys go into that dog pound last weekend."

The boy furrowed his eyebrows, "You followed us? Tell me you didn't turn into a dog again."

"Yes, I did."

"Why? We already talked about that, didn't we?"

The man huffed, "I know but my instincts told me to follow you. Then now I saw you come into a dog pound? Do you know how upset I was when I thought you might be planning to replace me? It hurts me, Taeyong."

Taeyong didn't know what to say, his mouth opening but before he could even say anything, Jaehyun speaks.

"Maybe you forgot I'm boyfriend too. The last thing I want is to apart from you. I've found home in this small apartment, in a room with a cat and fishes, and in the person that I trusted the most. I didn't even know I'll be replaced that quickly. Maybe something's wrong with me? Am I not enough, Taeyong?"

The boy leaned to hug Jaehyun, wrapping his arms around his waist. The man just clicked his tongue and propped his elbow on the table with his hand covering his eyes.

"Baby, you know you're enough for me, hm? I told you you'll be the only one who will complete me so I can't replace someone that I love so much, can I?"

Jaehyun tensed and removed his hand to look at Taeyong.

"Then...why were you at the pound?"

Taeyong smile timidly, "Well, I thought...we could have adopted pups? You know, like our own kids?"

The man felt confused.

"What...?"

"A family, Jae. You know, the two of us being parents, papa dog and daddy dog, then we have babies, puppies in your language...Or you don't want to?"

Jaehyun shook his head, "N-No. I was kind of overwhelmed now that you explained it."

"Don't worry, I just went out to check out the puppies...and maybe I checked out some orphanages as well," the boy said, whispering the last sentence.

"Orphanages?"

"Yeah. It's a home for abandoned children. You can come with me if you want. I just thought it would be nice to surprise you about it but I think I was wrong," Taeyong uttered.

Jaehyun groaned and covered his face, "I'm sorry for accusing you the wrong thing."

"Aw, baby, it's fine. It's my fault that I didn't say anything to you. I should've asked you before I thought about my fantasy," the boy said.

The man removed his hands and looked at the boy, "I'm not sure if I'm ready."

"We're not rushing things. We can talk about it any time but not now, I understand how you are feeling. I want us to enjoy being together before welcoming another member in our home, okay?"

Jaehyun nodded before he wrapped an arm around Taeyong's shoulder. They kept themselves close to each other, the warmth being irresistible.

"So...will you come to the party with me?"

"Why would I say no, Yongie?"
