Back at the palace Ellie was still hiding in her room. Afraid to look at the outside world without her best friend. In her room, Ellie was lying in her bed, tossing and turning too nervous to sleep. She couldn't seem to find a comfortable position. Cold droplets formed along her forehead. How is it so warm? Ellie thought. She removed the duvet as she got up. She looked around for her phone, her eyes resting on the nightstand. She opened the drawer, pulling out her phone. She walked towards the dark curtains, removing them in order to allow the light to seep in. The bright light flashed in her eyes, momentarily blinding her. Her eyes took a while to adjust, but as they did, she walked towards her armchair, bringing her feet up to her chest. She opened Jamie's contact and started texting:

"Hello"

"Where are you?"

"Are you there yet?"

"Jamie, please answer"

While she waited for a response, she started biting her nails, she knew she wasn't supposed to, it was a habit Jamie had tried to stop her from doing, but the nerves were really getting to her. He didn't respond, why isn't he responding she thought. She dug her nails into the armrest, her body tensing. She was getting frustrated, it was not like him to not answer, so she decided to call him. Again, there was no response. Now she was getting really anxious, what if something's happened to them? she thought, tears welling up in the corner of her eyes. Suddenly, the door of her room opened, a bright light shining through as her mother walked in. Although she didn't like to admit it, she was just the person Ellie needed right now. She ran to her mother's embrace and stood there crying into her shoulder trying to calm down the nerves threatening to overtake her.

Lottie opened her eyes to a blinding sun. She quickly shielded her eyes and looked around. She looked through the oval-shaped window, only to see white fluffy clouds dancing around the open sky. I'm on a plane she thought. "How did I get on the plane?" she muttered to herself, barely registering the words. "The same way you got into the car, I carried you," Jamie said as if stating the obvious, not lifting his gaze from his book. Lottie abruptly looked to her side and saw that Jamie was not sitting in his usual seat, but next to her. She looked down and realized that she was wearing Jamie's jacket. She brought the sleeve up to her nose, the smell of cinnamon washing over her. She felt a comforting feeling engulf her. It smelt like home, at first she hadn't been able to decide what was her home, was it Rosewood, Cornwall or Maradova? But, after giving it a lot of thought, she realized that home was wherever Jamie and Ellie were. She knew that with them she was safe. She was about to ask him something when her stomach rumbled. She was starving. She was about to ask Jamie for food when he delicately placed his finger on her lips, as he stood up and went to get something. Lottie sank deeper into her seat, a quick crimson blush making its way onto her pale cheeks. Jamie did not know why he'd done that; it had just come out naturally. What's wrong with me? He thought. He came back with a bowl of fresh fruit and handed it to Lottie. She didn't dare look up embarrassed of what her reaction had been. She started to pick out the strawberries, her favourite. She ate them slowly, trying to savour every bite she took. Once she finished them, she placed the bowl in the table in front of her and wondered off to a restless sleep. She couldn't wait to see Ellie.
