[Recap]
I haven't done much these days. Without Gilbert here there isn't much to do. Sometimes I take Tyler to the pond where Gilbert and I had a picnic but I stopped going since it just reminded me of him. I enjoy helping my Mother clean, It's relaxing to do something that is my own. I do wish Gilbert would write me, I hope he's okay.(ง'̀-'́)ง
[Gilbert's POV]
I'm standing on the dock looking around, Trinidad is beautiful.
"Boy, stop skylarkin'." Bash says interrupting my thoughts.
"Wow, this place looks amazing." I turn to look at Bash as I'm in awe, I mean how could you not?
"Just the beginning, my friend." Bash says with a neutral expression.
"You look underwhelmed." My face is taken over with a confused expression, I thought he would be happy to be back home.
"What you want me to do, dance?"
"It's been two years."
"Yes, I'm very happy to be home. But you? You'll cry when you have to leave. Trinidad will get into your soul. Now we have to get these barrels where they're going."
"Oh! Sea leg and seashore ain't friend, you know." Bash says looking at me.
"I just need to... get my balance." I try to say while I'm struggling to pick up the barrel.
"You need more than that with your mawga self. You catch a stiff breeze, you're gone." Bash jokes.
"I'm not that skinny." I say in disbelief.
"I'll find you some good Trinidadian bush medicine."
"When I was a boy, I would come down here every day." Bash says as we walk around.
"I had no idea such a place could exist!" I exclaim, I would have never imagined a place like this, it's great.
"Bet you never thought you'd find yourself this far from... Hey, what the name again?" Bash questions me.
"Avonlea." I answer Bash as we continue walking around.
"I used to shop here for my mom. Every ingredient she cooked with had to be fresh. Nothing stale in her kitchen."
"All these smells are making me hungry."
"You have anything good to eat up on Prince Edward?" Bash questions.
"I like potatoes." I shrug.
"C'mon, potatoes? Give me something to work with here!"
"Well... Mrs. Kincannon would serve crab every once in a while." I tell Bash.
"Now we're gettin' somewhere! How'd she prepare it?"
