Midtown High School:

Alyssa had her very next class with Peter. He'd looked at her strange when she said her last name but after that he'd been semi normal. She wondered why her name had effected him.  She walked up the stairs to the classroom, Peter at her side.

"Parker!" A voice called "Who's your little friend?"

"Leave her alone, Flash." Peter warned

He leaned over to Alyssa.

"Ignore him, he's harmless. Just annoying." He whispered.

"Why should I?" The boy, Flash asked, walking up behind them. "She's kinda hot."

"Dude. It's her first day. Just leave her alone." Peter said "Trust me. It's in your best interest."

Peter noticed Flash had gotten more aggressive over the summer.

Alyssa waited quietly. She knew how to handle herself but honestly, it was cute seeing someone try to stand up for her.

*"what? Cute? Stop you have a boyfriend and he has a girlfriend. A really nice one. A cute one."*

"I'm not gonna hurt her." Flash replied "Just flirt."

"I have a boyfriend." She spoke up.

"Oh yeah? He go here?"

She shook her head.

"Then as far as I'm concerned, you don't."

"Flash. Stop being a dick."

"Peter it's fine. I can handle myself."

"Yeah Peter, she can handle herself." Flash replied, mocking her.

Flash went to grab her arm. She reacted smoothly, flipping his hand and grabbing his wrist. She twisted his arm behind his back.

"I've been training since I was 7, don't touch me without permission." She warned in Flash's ear before letting go.

Peter smirked slightly before gesturing for her to continue walking to class with him, leaving Flash sighing as his now sore arm.

"He's not usually like that." Peter assured her "more of a pest than anything. Cocky. I don't know what his deal is today."

He shook his head in disappointment at Flash's actions.

"It's fine. I'm used to rapid behaviour switches." She assured him. "it's nothing new. My dad can go from calm to anxious to depressed in half a second. So annoying to aggressive is nothing."

"Why's he like that? Your dad I mean." He asked as they reached the classroom.

"He's a vet. He's seen a lot. Had to do a lot." She said "It's fine though. He's never violent or anything so..."

She pushed the classroom door open and took her seat. She actually had her last few classes of the day with Peter. They sat together in every one. MJ and a new face, Ned joined them for the last class of the day.

When the bell rang, Alyssa left in a hurry, walking towards the busy street. A blue car pulled up to the curb as she waited to cross.

"Let me guess," Peter said, rolling down the window. "you're going to the compound."

"What compound?" She asked, playing dumb.

Peter sighed and undid the collar of his shirt.

"Playing dumb." He mumbled "sneaky and stubborn like your mom."

She caught that.

"You knew my mom?" She asked, looking at him

She saw the red suit. A little smirk formed on her face.

"Of course I did. I worked for Mr. Stark. Still work for Mrs. Stark...among other things. Now get in the car. I'm not letting you walk there."

Alyssa sighed and climbed in the back seat.

"Nice to meet you spidey." She said

"Going to see anyone in particular?" MJ asked

"Sort of." Alyssa responded.
