John Winchester had stayed with them after the vampire hunt. He left and came back and brought all his information over on the demon over to the new Motel they were staying at. The beds bigger than the last and Blake and Milo had taken up half the space while Dean's belonging took up the other.Books on their laps, they each read in peace while Dean and Sam talk to their father.
"So this is it. This is everything I know." John says gesturing to all the hung up maps and articles. He turned back to his son's, who stood across the room. Every now and then John would catch Dean looking over to Blake.
"Look, our whole lives we've been searching for this demon, right? Not a trace. Just nothing. Until about a year ago. For the first time, I picked up a trail." He explained.
"That's when you took off." Dean said, being his eyes back over to his father.
"Yeah. That's right. The demon must have come out of hiding or hibernation."
"Alight, so what's this trial you found?" Dean asks
"Starts in Arizona, then New Jersey, California. Houses burned down to the ground. It's going after family's, just like it went after us." He tells them.
"Family's with infants?" Sam asks.
"Yeah. The night of the kid's six month birthday." John told him.
Blake had looked up from her book hearing this. She scrunched up her face as she tried to imagine her uncle as a baby. She couldn't.
"I was six months old that night?"
"Exactly 6 months."
"So basically, this demon is going after these kids for some reason." Sam said, with a small scoff. "The Same way it came for me? So mom's death...Jessica...it's all because of me?"
Blake watched between the three men that stood before her. The small amount of tension in the air hung lightly above them as she listened. Milo completely lost in his own world as he read.
But Blake had kept a ear in to the conversation that was happening before her.
Herself learning new things about her family as she did so.
"We don't know that, Sam." Dean said, Blake took note of his tone. One she's only ever heard a few times."Oh, Really? Because I'd say we're pretty damn sure, Dean." Sam said back, his tone pretty equal to her dad's. Blinking back, she moved closer to Milo.
The boy looked up from his book, so lost in it he had heard the voices in the background but hadn't really been listening—he's seen a few of their fights and had gotten used to it; the bickering reminded him of someone he wasn't so sure about—-someone from his lost memory's.."For the last time....what happened to them is not your fault." Dean said.
"Yeah, you're right. It's not my fault, but it's my problem." Sam said, his voice raised.
