Blake Winchester lay awake beside her father. The motel bed was one that squeaked with every turn.
These beds are ones she hated the most. It took her a while to fall asleep, to even stay asleep. Her mind was racing with thoughts and images of what's she's seen throughout her short life.
Monsters, ghosts, bugs, it was a lot for her little mind to carry.
It was a surprise to all —when she got the chance—denied the thought of going to school. To be like a normal child her age.
But she didn't want to be that.
She wanted to be a Winchester.
Strong,
brave,
fast;
she wanted to be everything her grandfather told her she would never be if she kept her head in the clouds.
Just as the little girl's eyes slowly closed, a loud ring sounded and she let out a annoyed huff.
"Dean." Sam said, his voice sleepy and ruff. When Dean didn't budge, Blake sighed and sat up in her spot. She can hear Sam talk on the phone, he called the person Dad and she immediately put two and two together.
Blake moved her arm and gave her father a shake, Dean woke up just as Sam continued."A Demon? What's he saying?" Dean asked, his voice worried. Sam continued to talk on the phone, ignoring Dean's pleas.
Blake watched her dad as he got ready, "give me the phone." Dean called out to Sam.
Sam didn't.
"Names? What names? Dad, wh—-? Talk to me. Tell me what's going on."
"Give me the phone!" Dean yells
Dean eventually grabbed the phone from Sam and put it to his ear.
"Dad, it's me. Where are you?"Dean took the names his father gave down on a paper and it wasn't soon before the three were headed out of the motel and into the car. Blake slept in the back, her blanket on top of her and her precious dog under her head as a pillow.
"All right, so the names Dad gave us, they're all couples?" Sam asked from the front seat as he drove. His voice was quiet as he spoke so he didn't wake his niece.
"Three different couples, all went missing." Dean says as he reads with a flashlight.
"And their all from different towns, different states?"
"That's right, yeah. Washington, New York, Colorado. Each couple took a road trip cross-country. None of them arrived at their destination or were ever heard from again." Dean explained, he looked over to Blake, who was still sleeping peacefully.
"It's a big country, Dean. They could've disappeared anywhere." Sam says
"Yeah, could've. But each one's rout took them through the same part of Indiana. Always on the second week of April, one year after another after another."
