Colourful lights illuminated the dark sky above the Devildom, loud cheers and cries of joy could be heard everywhere; they even rang louder than the music which was still playing. Demonus and other beverages were poured before the glasses clanked against each other.

Every demon, angel, and human present was busy with celebrating New Year's Eve – and surprisingly, I was no exception.

After the rather large Christmas party at the House of Lamentation I had planned to take things easy, but the brothers didn't want to hear anything about me enjoying New Year's Eve holed up at home.

Or had it been Diavolo who had insisted on us visiting the castle in return?

Honestly, I didn't know. But I knew that I would have to scold Asmo for the stunt he had pulled on me!

The very moment I had stepped out of my bathroom, the flirtatious demon had squealed in delight – and had told Beel to snatch me.

No idea why his younger brother had complied with the Avatar of Lust, but I found myself hauled over the glutton's shoulder, staring as his backside in confusion while he carried me effortlessly out of my room.

Okay...?

Long story short: After Beel had dropped me at Asmo's room, the latter 'used' me as his personal dressing doll.

And when he was finally finished with dressing me up, he ushered me out of the House of Lamentation and straight towards the castle.

By now I knew better than to protest, but that didn't mean that I didn't mutter profanities under my breath while he dragged me with him.

And that I rolled my eyes at the quietly chuckling Barbatos, who finally led us into the prepared room when we reached our destination.

An evening spend with all seven brothers, the demon prince, the demon butler, the angels, and the shady sorcerer crammed up in one room? Just peachy, right?

Yet, much to my surprise, it turned out better than I had anticipated.

Music was playing to which some of the brothers were dancing, while Beel and Luke raided the raclette, there were conversations and laughter, even Belphie kept himself awake to participate in the fun.

Time flew by quickly and when there were only mere minutes left until midnight, Diavolo ushered us out of the room and onto one of the bigger balconies overlooking the city.

Honestly, I felt a little lost when I found myself stuck in-between the hopeful glances they all were giving me.

Nope, I wasn't daft enough to not notice that they hoped to find themselves at the receiving end of the 'first kiss of the New Year' – a human tradition that Solomon had been only too happy to share with them.

But how should one choose between them without hurting the feelings of the others?

Finally, when the first firework illuminated the night sky and the first cheerful shouts became audible, I found myself surrounded by the hopeful demons and their upcoming bickering about who would deserve my attention the most.

But you can imagine their surprise, when I escaped their little circle and pulled someone else into a happy hug, a chaste kiss on the cheek swiftly following the unexpected action.

"Happy New Year, Luke!"

Luke flushed a bright shade of red and tried to stutter out his answer, while Diavolo's roaring laughter thankfully droned out the brothers' protests.

"They've got you there! Oh, I can't wait to see what the next year will be like!" And that's how I found myself in a bone crushing hug of the cheerful demon, while I still held Luke in my arms who joined my protesting shouts of us needing to breathe!

"Happy New Year you all!"

(A little short, but I hope you don't mind ^^ I had wanted to publish it last night, but I was too tired and with all the time differences between the different countries, I think it doesn't matter that I'm posting this now.

And with this little surprise this book is officially finished :D I hope you enjoyed it and I wish you a wonderful New Year!)
