(DiavoloxReaderxMammon)

There was one big question that kept reverberating itself through my head: Why the heck had I agreed to accompany Mammon?!

I should have known better than to hope for the white-haired demon to behave himself. And I should have already become suspicious when he forced me to snuck out of the House of Lamentation.

That never meant anything good!

But by now it was too late to stop him from whatever shenanigan he had planned this time and I was forced to follow him.

With a little luck I could stop him before he went overboard – again.

But I wouldn't bet on it, though...

"Hurry up, will ya? We ain't got all night!", the demon in question hissed at me and yanked me forwards, successfully causing me to stumble into his back when he did so.

"Geez, don't get your knickers in a twist! You're the one who wanted to do... whatever we are doing here! So don't blame me for having second thoughts about it! Especially since I don't even know what you've planned this time!" I hissed back at him and even send a glare at his face when he dared to grin smugly at me.

"Just hurry up!" Again, he didn't explain anything towards me, but dragged me along again and forced me to climb through a window and into a dark room. Mammon followed only seconds later and chuckled lowly while I glanced around worriedly.

Had we really just broken in somewhere? Yes, indeed, we had.

With Mammon being the Avatar of Greed I shouldn't be surprised about this, but... that didn't mean that I wasn't worried at all! I only could hope that he hadn't chosen someone's home who could easily shred me into tiny pieces and...

My thoughts were interrupted when Mammon pulled me with him and forced me to glance into the dimly lit hall.

Why didn't he look by himself, huh? But maybe it was for the best that I was the one to look out for any signs of activity.

So I had a chance to figure out where exactly he had decided to try his luck.

Paintings adorned the walls, expensive vases and other knickknack's were scattered along the hall and the floor was covered in a thick carpet that seemed oddly familiar to me.

Especially one spot or rather a stain right in front of the door I was peaking out caught my eyes and triggered a certain memory to pop up in my mind.

That stain looked remarkably like the stain I had made at the retreat at Lord Diavolo's castle by spilling some make-up on the floor... No, I would even go so far and say that it looked... Identically?

Wait a minute...

My short gasp startled Mammon, who pulled me back into the room in a hurry to prevent me from being found by the inhabitant of the house.

Or at least he thought I was in danger of being found... He clearly hadn't expected me to shove him and to hit him over his head! "Are you shitting me?! You're trying to steal stuff from Diavolo?!"

"Ouch! Human! Stop that shit! He won't even know that something's missing if you keep it low! Now lower your voice, we've got business to do!"

I only could stare at the moronic demon in front of me. Was he serious? He couldn't be, could he?

But he proved me that he indeed was moronic enough when he slipped out of the room and scurried along the hall to search for some sellable items.
