(BarbatosxReaderxBelphegor)

Potato salad and wiener sausages usually served as Christmas meal for my family. And I didn't doubt that at least Beel would be happy with whatever was about to be served on Christmas.

But I always had wanted to try another traditional meal, yet my mother had refused to try something new.

Heck, even my grandmother hadn't allowed me to use her kitchen for preparing something else than the usual.

But this year I wasn't at home, was I? Instead I was living at the Devildom and that meant that I could try whatever I wanted to try!

Sure, I needed help – lots of it – since I didn't know any recipes at all, but that was the easiest part. I had asked Barbatos for his help and experience and the demon butler had gladly accepted to help me out with whatever I would need him for.

For weeks we had tried to perfect my creations and Beel had gladly volunteered to act as our taster.

So far he hadn't complained about what I called roast turkey, but unfortunately today the glutton didn't show up at the castle.

He had a last game before the holidays and had send his twin to assist us. No idea if a sleepy demon is more helpful than a gluttonous one, but I didn't complain.

After all, help was helping no matter what form or person!

"Okay, one last time and then you should be ready for tomorrow." Barbatos had already prepared the ingredients for me and offered me a reassuring smile when I gulped heavily.

This was the last time he would assist me, and I already feared the worst. Maybe it wasn't that bad that Belphie was here, too?

The Avatar of Sloth could probably... But a hopeful glance towards the demon revealed: fast asleep... again...

"Oh boy... I'm screwed... Belphie, wake the heck up! You're my joker in this!" Sure, I knew that even when he was asleep he was one of the brightest demons around but tell that my poor nerves!

My relieved sigh when he cracked one eye open caused him and Barbatos to chuckle lowly at my troubled state.

"Such a hassle... Calm down, will you? I won't let you down." That a big yawn followed his words made me doubt it...

A good roast turkey needs time. Lots of it.

And while I was busy with bustling around, Barbatos decided to add some helpful remarks in-between his joyful laughter, while Belphie drifted back and forth between awake and asleep, visibly amused by my bustling whenever he could observe me.

Glad that they had fun!

When half the time had passed even Lord Diavolo stopped by for a moment and watched me going crazy over something like a dead chicken. His words, not mine!

And let me tell you: the demon prince had stopped by every day since Barbatos and I had started to practice and had glanced longingly at every 'meal' I had made so far.

He even had been slightly jealous because Beel had my permission to devour all of them while he wasn't. Which had been for two reasons.

One: Beel's stomach could handle a lot more than every other demon I knew.

Two: Have you every seen his hopeful puppy dog eyes?! No chance to resist the glutton at all when he aims them at you! I swear I've tried to resist them, but to no avail... Blasted, cute glutton!

But not today!

Lord Diavolo knew that Beel was busy and sensed his opportunity to get his own taste of turkey! But there he had made the calculation without Belphie.

"With all due respect, Diavolo, but you're going to wait for tomorrow. Like we all." An innocent grin was plastered on the sleepy demon's face which was answered with a slight pout by Lord Diavolo. "As if I haven't heard that a few dozen times already..."

Fortunately, he left after Barbatos had bribed him with a snack or else I would have broken down completely.

But that didn't stop the disasters to unfold themselves...

With his kindly reminder that everybody would eat what I was about to prepare my nerves got the better of me.

In my nervousness I started to drop bowls, forgot to cover the turkey with the mixture, I burned the gravy, and finally even burned my hand – which led to me dropping the heavy roast onto the kitchen floor.

Barbatos and Belphie tried their best to help me and to cover my mistakes, but it was to no avail. I had ruined it. Again.

Small sobs were only the beginning and already tell-tale enough for the green-haired demon to pull me into a reassuring embrace.

"Nah, nah, don't despair. You'll do great tomorrow", he started to sooth me while Belphie cautiously observed the seemingly intimate interaction between us. "And I'm sure that Lord Belphegor will help you with everything. Am I right?"

I missed the pleading look Barbatos shot at Belphie, who seemed rather hesitant to agree. No wonder with the slight jealousy bubbling inside of the sleepy demon.

Yet, this feeling was replaced with surprise and excitement when Barbatos handed me over to him after he had agreed lowly "Sure..."

"I would suggest that I take care of this here while you take care of that burn. First floor, third room on the left. There you'll find all supplies you'll need." A knowing wink accompanied the demon butler's words which caused Belphie to grin like a Cheshire cat before he escorted me to the mentioned room.

"Before you even start; things like that can happen", he cut me short when I tried to say something. "We'll fix you up, then we'll go home and take a refreshing nap together, and afterwards everything will look better than before. And tomorrow we two will prepare the best meal ever served to my brothers. Okay?"

He sounded so confident that I only could nod before I allowed him to wrap up my hand. He surely was right; everything would turn out fine.

He had been mostly awake while we had rehearsed the recipes and he was smart enough to pass his pop quizzes even when he was asleep, so... what should go wrong?

(Little fun fact on the side: Years ago I've tried to make roast turkey for Christmas myself. Almost everything went wrong, but despite that I had forgotten to remove the bag with innards it was sort of eatable ^^'

But this year I'm going to try again and I'm convident about not screwing it up again!

That's why I'll try to finish the last one-shot today, before I'll be busy with preparing the dinner.)
