I am so excited to see StarStrings! I have been listening to them ever since middle school and now I am a senior in highschool. I put on the new dress Isa got me. I do my hair, make up and even put on some jewelry. I still decide to wear my sneakers though. I head down stairs slowly for a big entrance until I hear my mom again. I stop to listen. She is talking to Isa and my dad. "Do you guys want her to fall in love with music and have her become a lowlife musician on the street? Why did you guys get her those things? It gives her hope. Aliya can't do anything. She has a dream of becoming a successful musician but it is lame. She should go to college and become a doctor like you, Isa. Inspire her that way. Or a UPS driver like you, hon. Not some musician. That won't get her anywhere in life."
I run back upstairs. I begin to pack my clothes into a suit case. I put my microphone in my back pack and take the tickets with me. I have my keyboard as well. I march down the stairs and strap everything to my bike. "I am going to become successful so you just watch, mom. You are going to regret not believing in me. I don't even know why you treat me this way. I am an adult now and I am tired of this. So I'm leaving!" I yell at my mom. I begin to head out but then my dad stops me. "Aliya wait! Here's 200 bucks and make sure you have your wallet. I love you honey. Be safe. Call me when you can. I'll miss you." "I'll miss you too dad. Thank you for believing in me. I love you." And I take off.
What was I even thinking? I was so confident on leaving and I end up in the middle of who knows where in Florida. I begin to ride a little and then I hear StarStrings songs! I made it to their concert! I can't bring all of this stuff in so I throw it behind this bush behind the concert hall. Hopefully, my stuff won't get stolen. I enter the concert with the tickets my sister gave me and I sing my heart out with my dad's microphone. I won't let my moms issues with me ruin my 18th birthday.
