Today is the day of the audition. I put on my best clothes and head over to Buwan Entertainment. It was hard place to find but it is such a huge building. I get inside and I see the manager. "Hi, Ms.Manager." I say. "You're late, Ms.Keins and you can call me Ms.Lim." She says in a serious tone. "But you didn't tell me what time to get here so I got here at 12. It seemed like a good time. How was I suppose to know?" I ask. "No more questions." She says. She guides me to the practice room where all of StarStrings is sitting and the CEO. "Hello. My name is Aliya Keins. I am from Miami, Florida. I came to LA to pursue my dream as a singer songwriter. Today I will be performing my own song. It's called my message to you." I got straight to the point. And the man goes "Kamusta ka?" "Mabuti po. Kamusta ka na po?" I respond. I am a Filipino so I understand a little bit. When my parents came from the Philippines, they didn't want me to have a strong Filipino accent so English is my first language. I only understand certain things in Tagalog. He looks surprised "Hoyyy Ang galing. You can now proceed with your song, Ms.Keins." "Salamat po." I say.
The song is now over. I do not know how they feel. The boys have white boards. They all give me different ratings. Milo, 8. Neil, 8. Yuki, 7. Carlos, 8. "As you can see here, they all gave you different ratings. You will be writing 3 songs for StarStrings and if they are successful. You will get a contract with our company. If you fail. You will pay a 100,000 dollar fee for wasting our companies money. How does that sound, Ms.Keins?" The CEO just threw so much at me. I am at a loss for words right now. "Uh sure. Wait how long do I have?" I ask. "You have until June." Ms.Lim says. "Oh okay. That makes me feel a little bit more at ease." I say. "You will be also living next to the boys. You are going to be like a mini manager but their songwriter at the same time. You will be getting paid for the work you do as their manager. 12 dollars an hour." Says Ms.Lim "Living next to the boys? Mini Manager?" I say. I am so confused. "I already sent your things to your new living space for the next 7 months. I can't wait to work with you. Don't fail me. If you need anything, here's my card." Says the CEO and then he leaves. The boys greet me. "We can't wait to work with you." They all give me high fives expect Yuki. "Come on Ms.Keins, I will take you to your new place." Says Ms.Lim.
