"Thank you to Flash forbeing 60% of our profits."
————————————————————"Alright ladies, we only have 13 days before the Winter Dance," Mr. Harrington said during their decathlon meeting after school.
They were in the auditorium as usual and Mr. Harrington had called the Winter Dance committee up on the stage to give the rest of the team a quick briefing before they left to go home. MJ, the chair of the committee, stood up first.
"So we're almost ready for the dance. We have a DJ, courtesy of Betty's dad's friend. The caterers are booked. Decorations are being taken care of, but we do need some volunteers to help decorate the gym the morning of the dance. Am I forgetting anything?"
"How much profit did we make from selling the roses?" he asked.
"A lot, probably," Flash smirked, leaning back in his chair cockily, "I bought all of the red roses."
"So do you have a date to the dance?" Ned asked. Flash immediately dropped his smirk.
"Not yet," he admitted, "But there are some girls who really want to go with me. I have several applications."
"I'm sure you do," Peter smirked and Flash threw him a dirty look.
"Overall," MJ said, ignoring their banter, "we made a 300 hundred dollar profit from the roses which helped pay for our DJ with some cash leftover in our savings."
"That's wonderful, MJ," Mr. Harrington said, "Thank you for implementing such a profitable idea and thank you to Flash for being 60% of our profits."
Flash grinned, proud of himself.
"Well, I guess that concludes our meeting," Mr. Harrington said, "I have a clipboard with a sign up sheet for volunteering to help decorate the gym the day of the dance. The more the merrier!"
The dance committee made their way over to the clipboard to sign themselves up even though they were already supposed to be there anyway. Ned, Peter, Abe, and even Flash were already lined up to volunteer. Adelaide smiled to herself. It was sure to be a strange morning if all of them showed up.
Nevertheless, she couldn't wait for the dance.
It was true that she wasn't usually into these dances and things, but after she had picked out her dress, she couldn't wait for the night of the dance so Peter could see it. And not to mention that she had been practicing her dancing skills with Tony every other day after school and it was safe to say that she was much better at dancing than she had been when she first started.
Going to the dance was a normal teenager thing to do and Adelaide was grasping at any chance she had to be normal nowadays.

She and Vivian had decided to work on their physics review packet together at the coffee shop down by her apartment complex.
But she didn't know then that really should have just stayed home that day.
