Clarke POV

Clarke woke up the next morning and saw Lexa laying down on her back. Clarke stretched.

"Don't lick your lips." Lexa said. "It'll only make it worse." Lexa added, as Clarke sat up. "How are you feeling?"

"Headache, dry mouth and lips, trying not to drink the ocean water, hungry, my back hurts, along with a lot of other things. How are you?" Clarke asked.

"Same." Lexa said. "Here eat the fish." Lexa said, moving over the fish that was on a piece of cloth. Lexa sat up.

Clarke looked at it. It was half eaten already. "Yes I ate." Lexa said. Clarke picked up a piece of the fish and just swallowed it. "Eat slow so you don't go throwing it up."

Clarke ate very slowly, swallowing instead of chewing. It wasn't nearly as bad as she thought but she hated the feeling of it in her mouth.

"Told you it wasn't that bad." Lexa said.

"Still disgusting." Clarke said.

"I have a lollipop if you want it." Lexa said. Clarke laughed. "What?" Lexa asked.

"I don't know. I'm going insane." Clarke said. "But I don't want it. How'd you even get it?"

Lexa shrugged. "I found them in a ziplock bag." Lexa said. "A kid probably had it on the plane or something."

"You did really grab everything." Clarke said. Lexa nodded.

About two hours passed when Lexa looked behind Clarke. "Clarke, do me a favor and move to the middle of the raft and don't look behind you." Lexa said, still looking behind her.

"Why?" Clarke asked, worried but moved slowly to the middle.

"It's fine just don't look." Lexa said, moving closer to the middle.

Lexa grabbed something and put it into her pocket. Lexa's eyes were following something as Lexa moved closer to her.

Lexa was facing her. Their legs were touching and Clarke was trying to focus on that. "Lexa, what's going on?" Clarke asked.

"Hold on. Don't move and don't make much sound." Lexa said, quietly. "I think it's going away." Clarke's heart was pounding.

Lexa's exhaled after a minute. "It's gone I think." Lexa said.

"What happened?" Clarke asked, still scared.

"There was a shark." Lexa said. "It was a good distance away but..." Lexa trailed off. Clarke's eyes widened and looked behind her. There was nothing but the ocean.

"Thank you for not telling me because I would have panicked." Clarke said. Lexa nodded. "I forgot about sharks." Clarke sighed.

"I knew we were gonna see one." Lexa said, looking into Clarke's eyes. Clarke had an urge to kiss Lexa but she ignored it.

They both moved back to where they were before. "Why did you save me?" Clarke asked.

Lexa stuttered. "I don't know, you were closest to this raft and I figured I'd get lonely." Lexa said, itching the back of her neck.

"Is that the only reason?" Clarke asked.

"Yes?" Lexa said. "Yeah, that's the only reason." Lexa said, more confidently.

"I don't believe that for a second." Clarke said.

"I mean there were other reasons but they were the main reasons." Lexa said. Clarke raised her eyebrows. "Because I think you are beautiful." Lexa said quickly.

"Say it again?" Clarke said, knowing exactly what Lexa said.

"You know what I said." Lexa said.

"My headache is messing with my concentration." Clarke said, hiding a smile.

"I just saved you from a shark." Lexa said.

"What does that have to do with anything?" Clarke asked. "And don't change the topic. Also I was staring at you the whole plane ride."

"You were?" Lexa asked. Clarke laughed a little and nodded. "I was also kind of staring at you. I mean I didn't just save you because of your beauty, I saved you because it was the right thing to do..." Lexa trailed off. "I'm so awkward." Lexa said as Clarke laughed. "We are changing the topic." Lexa said.

"I just want water." Clarke said. Lexa nodded. Every inch of Clarke was aching. Clarke wanted to cry but couldn't.

"Are you sure you don't want a lollipop?" Lexa asked.
