Clarke POV
A week has passed since the plane passed by. They had only seen one other plane besides that one. The bear has been by the lake a lot but hasn't been bothering them. It was also cold and windy which made it hard for them to stay warm. They think it's September but have lost count of the days.
The sun was rising and Lexa was asleep next to her. Clarke got up and walked out of their 'house'. Clarke grabbed a spear and walked over to the lake. Clarke saw the cub walking out of the woods.
Clarke saw a few fish in the lake near the edge. Clarke tried to spear them but missed every time. Clarke looked over to the bear cub. The cub was sitting down, watching her, curious. "You want a turn?" Clarke asked the bear cub.
The cub got up and walked over to the lake, opposite of her. Clarke looked back to the lake and saw a fish right by her. Clarke speared the fish. Clarke brought it to the land and killed it.
Clarke looked over to the lake and saw another fish. Clarke tried to spear it and did. Clarke brought it to the land. The bear was looking at her. Clarke picked up the live fish and showed the cub it before throwing it to the side on the land.
Clarke picked up the dead fish and walked back to the camp. Lexa was outside making a fire. "Making friends?" Lexa asked. "And talking to animals?"
Clarke laughed softly and started to gut the fish. Clarke looked back over to the bear, who was walking back into the woods with the fish in its mouth. "You giving our food away?" Lexa asked, jokingly.
"It was even smaller than this. It was also really cute." Clarke said. Lexa laughed. Clarke started to cut meat off. "The fish is small, it could take us through the day." Clarke said.
"I'll go look for a few coconuts." Lexa said, getting up.
"Lexa you weren't feeling good yesterday, you need rest." Clarke said. "And I don't care if you feel fine." Lexa went to protest but Clarke gave Lexa a look. Lexa closed her mouth.
"I'm not sitting around." Lexa said.
"You can go talk to the animals." Clarke said. "Or you can filter more water." Lexa huffed. "I'll be back in a little bit."
Clarke got up and walked to the coconuts. Clarke saw a few on the ground but they were rotten or almost rotten. Clarke looked up at the trees and saw a few. She looked around and saw a thin but long branch about ten feet away.
She walked over and brought it back over to the trees. Clarke tried to use the branch to knock some down. Clarke got three down. Clarke tried for a few more minutes and ended up with five in total.
Clarke turned around and the cub was watching her. "I don't think you'll like these." Clarke said, bending down. She picked a coconut up and held it out for the cub. The cub slowly walked towards her.
The cub stepped on a stick and scared itself, running back into the woods. Clarke sighed and picked up the rest, walking back to the camp. Clarke kept an eye out for the bear cub, while walking.
Lexa was washing off in the lake. Clarke put the coconuts down and added a few sticks to the fire.
A few minutes later, Lexa came walking back over. "Have fun?" Lexa asked, sitting down.
"The bear cub followed me and scared itself back into the woods." Clarke said. "Also got five coconuts. They are pretty heavy so they probably have a lot of water." Clarke added. Lexa picked one up and felt it.
"Were these on the ground?" Lexa asked.
"No, I got them off trees." Clarke said. Lexa opened her mouth to say something but Clarke cut her off. "I didn't climb the tree." Clarke told Lexa. "I found a long branch and used them to knock them down."
Lexa tossed the coconut to Clarke and Clarke caught it, putting back into the pile. "I just realized you were up before me." Lexa said.
"I know." Clarke said. "It's usually the other way around." Lexa laughed softly. Lexa got up to break a coconut open on a rock. Clarke put a few more sticks on the fire.
Lexa sat back down next to her a little later. Lexa handed her the coconut. Clarke took it and saw a small hole at the top. She took a drink and handed it to Lexa. Lexa took a sip and then put it between them.
Clarke looked at Lexa, looking at her side profile. Her strong jawline, her perfect nose, her full lips, her long eyelashes, her green eyes that change color everyday.
Lexa turned her head to look at the lake, which was opposite of her. "Clarke, I don't know what you did but look at the bear cub." Lexa said.
Clarke looked where the cub was and saw that it was sitting watching them about thirty feet away. "We are besties." Clarke said. "He is so cute."
"How do you know it's a he?" Lexa asked.
"He told me." Clarke said. "He looks like a stuffed animal." Lexa laughed. The cub got up and slowly walked towards them. They looked away as the cub got closer and closer.
"Can bears have rabies?" Clarke asked.
"I don't think so?" Lexa asked. "Maybe. I don't know?" Lexa shrugged. "I have no clue." Lexa concluded. Clarke giggled.
After about ten minutes, the bear cub was laying down about five feet away. "If I wake up to him sitting on me in the middle of the night..." Lexa trailed off. Clarke giggled. "He'll be sitting on you too."
After about an hour, the cub left. They finished the coconut water and started to eat the coconut meat.
"I wonder what other animals are here." Clarke said.
"There better not a fucking dragon." Lexa said, ripping off a part of the coconut. Clarke looked at her. "You never know?" Lexa shrugged.
"We can find out." Clarke said. "I'll use you as the bait and then I'll ride the dragon off this island."
"Rude." Lexa said, hitting Clarke's arm playfully. Clarke laughed.
