(Bucky)
"When I said, 'By all means, lead the way,' I was not expecting this," Loki eyes the large abandoned warehouse with skeptical green eyes.
'I can just IMAGINE the thoughts he's having right now,' Winter says with a laugh.
'Go away,' I shoot back silently, feeling slightly embarrassed at his suggestion.
'Well, I'd love to, but I'm stuck in your head!' Winter retorts hotly.
"I'll explain in a minute," I answer Loki's questioning look as I walk up to the locked front doors. I eye the large lock on the door, then close my metal fist around it, breaking it apart.
"This is an abandoned HYDRA safe house," I explain as I push open one of the large doors. "They're scattered all over the planet for agents to lie low. I lived in one back when I was still in Bucharest."
"That still doesn't explain why we're here," Loki points out, following behind me.
"Gimme a sec," I stride through the warehouse my hand against the wall, searching for...
"Ah-ha!" I run my hand over the cleverly hidden HYDRA symbol emblazoned on the wall, pressing a hidden button. A small section of the wall slides away, revealing a safe. "The safes contain money for an agent on the run."
"You say that as if you're planning on leaving," Loki points out, frowning slightly.
I shake my head quickly and a flash of... relief(?) crosses Loki's face, "It's just a precaution. Even the Winter Soldier needs to be careful."
I quickly enter the complex code and the safe opens. Grabbing a leather wallet stored in the safe, I fill it with American money, then shove it into my pocket.
"How did you know where this place was?" Loki inquires as I lock the safe back up.
"HYDRA implanted hundreds of locations in my mind using brainwashing. It's much easier to plant something in a brain than to take the time to teach, and HYDRA didn't waste time."
Loki follows me back out of the warehouse and watches as I close the door again.
"Do you think you'll ever be on the run again?"
I sigh, "I hope not. As much as I'd like the idea of just settling down somewhere to live the rest of my life quietly, there'll always be another fight, another reason to look over my shoulder for enemies."
"I'm sorry you feel that way," Loki whispers softly as we both turn and begin walking away from the abandoned warehouse and back towards more populated parts of the city.
"It's not your fault Loki. Who knows? Maybe I'm wrong, and will actually get a peaceful retirement in the countryside."
"I couldn't picture you as a farmer," Loki chuckles.
"Fair point," we smile at one another, and my heart flutters slightly, "Back onto better topics! I have an idea for a place we can go to fulfill Miss. Potts' wish>"
"Sure. What's your idea? But please, no more dark abandoned warehouses," Loki says with a grin.
"I think you'll like this idea."
(A/N: This one's kinda short, but no worries, my next chapter will be longer! (and may or may not contain a cameo of a person from another fandom...)
Random question: What's your favourite song to be sad over? (Mine would be "Heather" by Conan Gray, or any song by Damien Rice)
