Roses P.O.V

It's been 2 weeks since school shut down. 4 weeks since Scorpius and I went on a "break". I miss him. From what Lily has told me, him and Al have been hanging out. We still have classes via the Floo Network. I've been going into Hogsmeade more often. Searching for something, anything to grant me peace of mind. I haven't found anything yet.

After classes ended, I said by to mum and dad then went to Hogsmeade via Floo powder.

I wandered through the streets. There weren't many people there after all it was Wednesday. Many people were probably at work or at home with children.

I walked lost in thought until I heard a familiar voice. Ahtcree!

"Ahtcree! Ahtcree!" I shouted over to him.

"Oh hey... Rose, right? Pardon me if I got your name wrong. I'm bad with names. You're the witch from last time!" He remarked walking over to me.

"Yes, I am and you got my name correct."

"Phew thank goodness. Do you mind helping with this? I don't really understand the currency here heh." He scratched his head.

"Of course, its no problem. That item is 5 galleons, which are these coins."

"Thank you! Galleons, what an interesting name."

He paid for his item then we began walking down the pathway conversing.

"So where did you go last time?"

"Portal. My friends found me, rather quickly I might add. I was going to say goodbye but it was urgent. Where are your friends? How have you guys been?"

"We've been better. My friends are at home."

"Oh well I hope whatever it is gets better. I've got to go now but if you ever need my help just say the word."

"Thanks, how would I even summon you ha-ha, you seem to appear and disappear."

"Here."-he handed me a pendent- "Whenever you need my help just hold it and call my name and I'll be there."

"Thank you. If you ever need my help just send an owl or a message."

"Thank you, goodbye Rose."

"Goodbye Ahtcree."

He walked away then disappeared. I sighed and continued to walk.

I decided to go to a muggle shop. I wanted to get some books to take my mind off things.

I wandered around through the aisle looking for some historical fiction books.

I finally found the section I was looking for. There was another boy standing there. He was tall- shorter than Scorp...stop it Rose-, tan and had brown hair. Complete opposite of Scorpius.

I walked up to the books hoping he wouldn't say anything.

I sifted through the books till I found one. I picked out 'The diaries of Alexander Hamilton'. It told tales of Hamilton and his thoughts.

"Great choice, I love that book. 'I, Claudius' is also nice." I looked up and saw the muggle boy smiling down at me and the book in my hand.

"Oh, uh ok thanks."

"Historical Fiction is my favorite genre."

"Oh cool, Romance is mine."

"I'm Jordan." He held his hand out for me to shake. I grabbed his hand a shook it.

"Rose."

"That's a beautiful name."

"Thanks."

"Do you come here often?"

"No, not really."

"What a shame. Would've been nice to speak to another book lover." He said solemnly.

"Yeah...um I'm going to go check these out."

"Ok well, till next time Rose." He gave me a smile then went back to looking at the shelves.

I checked out my book then went home.

"Hey Rose, do you want to help with dinner?" Mum asked.

"Sure, just let me put this book away and wash my hands."

"Ok."

I washed my hands then went to join mum.

"Can you start chopping these vegetables up please?" She asked washing the rice.

"Sure, what're you making?"

"Rice and chicken with a side of vegetables. For dessert we're having homemade pumpkin pastries."

"Sounds delicious mum."

"What's wrong? You sound so unenthusiastic and bit sad. Is everything ok?" Concern peaking out in her voice.

"Yeah, I'm fine, just...thinking about stuff." I said absent mindly.

"I thought this could be a little mother daughter bonding time, you know we barely see each other. With me at work, you busy with school and all this Delphini business, I've missed you. Tell me what's on your mind."

"Scorpius and I are on a 'break'"

"Oh no honey, what happened?" She frowned.

"I...I got mad then snapped at him and uh...it didn't end well." I looked down at the chopping board that held chopped carrots with a sad look.

"Oh sweetie. I'm so sorry. I'm sure you and Scorpius will figure something out, you always do."

"Yeah, but he's been avoiding me...sort of. I look at him and he looks away, I walk towards him, he walks in the other direction...It hurts."

"Aww my poor baby." Mums said concern thick in her voice.

"I've been stressed with all this Delphini stuff. She just won't go away. I try to go to sleep, she appears with a new nightmare. And when I'm not having nightmares caused by her, I'm thinking of Scorpius. I don't...I d-don't know how to m-make it stop. It's like e-everything falls a-apart around me and it's all my f-fault. Even w-worse I can't do anything about it. I j-just want it to stop." My voice began to break and tears began to fall down my face.

"Rosie..." Mum rushed towards me and enveloped me in a tight motherly hug.

"I'm sorry I didn't know. I'm sorry I haven't been there for you. It's not your fault. None of this is your fault. I can't tell you when or how but I can tell you it will get better eventually. I wish I could do something to stop this but I can't. Just know I'll always be there for you whenever you need me."

"Thank you, mum."-I hugged her tightly, feeling her warmth surround me. For the first time in a long time, I felt like things were going to be ok. I don't know if this feeling will last but I'm going to relish in it whilst it's here. - "I've missed you mum." My voice came out muffled and unsteady due to mums' advantage in height and my tears.

"I've missed you too... you can go upstairs if want, to clear your mind. I'd prefer if you stayed though."

I pulled away from the hug slowly with a small smile on my tear-stained face.

"No way I'm going upstairs, this is mother daughter bonding time, right?"

Mum smiled and picked up the knife I had dismissed on the counter amidst my crying and handed it to me.

As I chopped, I chatted with mum about meaningless things. It was fun. I don't know what's ahead but at least I have my mum.

Little did I know mummy couldn't save me from the trouble that laid ahead.

Hey.... heyyyyy so uh HAPPY NEW YEAR WOOO! 🥳2020 is finally over!🎆🎉🎊 Granted nothing will change but uh its new year so yay!🎉 Anyhoo I hope you guys enjoyed your holidays and if you didn't celebrate anything, I hope you had a great break and if you didn't have a break, I hope you had a great month. 🎊I hope 2021 is better for all of us.
