I think my family was even more excited to see Harry and I, than Harry's was. It probably helped that there was at least triple the amount of people here to greet us. What can I say, I have a large family. We'd left Harry's mum's earlier that day, about an hour later than we'd intended to, but we'd still made it, which was all that mattered.
"Lou," the two youngest of my sisters called, running from the rather humble home for how many people it accommodated. The twins, Daisy and Phoebe, clung to me tighter than they ever had before. "So you go off and fall in love and don't even bother to tell us," Daisy complained, squeezing me tighter.
"Sorry, Daisy," I muttered, holding the two of them even closer. "You lot have grown up a bit since I left," I say, pulling back to get a proper look at my sisters. They'd gotten taller for sure, but they just overall looked more mature than they had when they'd been 12. "I missed you girls," I say, pulling them back into a tight hug.
"I don't suppose you've saved a hug for your favorite sister," Lottie jokes, approaching me after having let go of the twins.
"Only you could say that and get away with that," I joke, hugging my sister tightly.
"That's because I'm your favorite," she replies.
"Oh, Lottie," Harry says pitifully. "That's where you're wrong. I'm his favorite and before you even try to go to the second favorite option, that's this little girl right here," he says, holding up a sleeping Darcy. "Could you take her inside, your sisters are two seconds from screaming because apparently they didn't know you knew me or that we were dating," he said. I smile, nodding, before taking the three year old from him. She made a few noises of complaint before cuddling up to my chest like she'd been with Harry. After she had settled herself on my chest, Harry gently kissed her forehead and handed me the teddy bear she had been refusing to go anywhere without as of recently.
"Louis," my mum greeted quietly, taking notice of Darcy sleeping on my shoulder. "Oh she's adorable," my mum complimented, taking notice of the way her blonde hair curled, which was much like how Harry's did.
"She got that from Harry," I tell her. "Her attitude, however, comes mostly from yours truly," I add. "H and I thought we'd let her sleep for a bit longer. Is there a quiet room we can put her down for a bit longer," I ask quietly, as she tries to hide herself in my chest, to avoid actually waking up.
"Your old bedroom, love. We turned it into the guest bedroom," she tells me. I nod, heading up the stairs in the direction I'd often done during my high school days. I opened the door to the bedroom that used to be mine, but had been remodeled to fit the needs of a guest bedroom, rather than a teen's bedroom. The walls had remained their shade of light green, which always reminded me of Harry's eyes, even back then. I gently pull back the comforter on the bed, lying Darcy down on the bed.
"Papa, where are we," she sleepily asked, rubbing at her eyes.
"Nana Jay's," I tell her. "Sleep some more, babygirl. Daddy or I will wake you before dinner, okay," I ask. She nodded, cuddling into the bed. "Here's your teddy, sweetheart," I say to her, setting the stuffed animal down next to her. She quickly reached out, grabbing it and pulling it towards her.
"Night night, Papa," she muttered, falling into a deep sleep.
"Harry, love, could you run to the store and get me some flour? It turns out we didn't actually have any," Jay asked, chuckling at the end. Everyone knew it was just a ruse to get Harry out of the house for a bit, so they could see the ring I had chosen.
"Of course, I'll be back as soon as I can," he says, getting up to leave. "Can you wake Darcy in 20 minutes if I'm not back, please," he asked, kissing me gently.
