Finding Tegan

Bad chapter 16

Alex brought me back to her house after at short 5 minutes of walking.

The house was dark and silent as we opened the door.

"Hello?" Alex called.

Kirsty came running down the stairs.

"Mum, Joshua has been crying upstairs for ages now. I think he's worried about her" Said kirsty. Pointing at me.

Kirsty's hair was now high in a messy bun and she looked tired in her pajamas. I wasn't sure of the time but I reckon it must have been 2am.

"I suppose I'll have to check on him then.. Take her to the cellar will you" said alex, slowly starting to make her way upstairs.

Kirsty took me down the dusty cellar once again. Knowing I was alone there in the dark made me feel sick.

Before kirsty walked away I tapped her on the shoulder.

"Please stay a bit" I whispered.

I may be 14-15 but sometimes I like company especially since I've acted like a grown up from the start of this mess.

"Sure" she smiled.

We sat on the cold floor staring in to space.

"Why didn't you tell me?" I asked randomly.

"Tell you.....?"

"You know about this whole thing just being a revenge and nothing to do with being in debt."

"Oh" she paused. "I guess my dad wanted to scare you"

"Wait hold the phone so nothing is going to happen to me?"

"No..well yes, that was the case for Tegan because she wouldn't tell anybody but you would and..."

"And?"

"My dad isn't a nice man Lauren, in fact he's a awful man. He can't trust you. Chances are you'll d..die or he'll send you away to some place where they sell young girls."

I suddenly wanted to cry but nothing came out. Not even a tear.

"I'm such a retard"

"Your not" she said holding my shoulder.

"Really! because I'm pretty sure I got involved in a kidnapping which wasn't even a real kidnapping, because my dad and mum made a lot up AND I will either be sold to some phsyco or be killed in my EX-BOYFRIENDS HOUSE!" I screamed.

"Ex?"

I started getting angry.

"YES EX HE DUMPED ME, STRAIGHT BEFORE ALL OF THIS....." I realized for the first time how much of a coincident josh dumping me just before everything happened was.

"Does josh remember getting kidnapped?" I asked.

She sighed. "Yes a little bit but we barley talk about it, my dads usually around and it would just make him angry."

"You don't think he dumped me because...

Because he found out my dad kidnapped him so he dumped me to protect me from your dad?"

She froze. She clearly not knowing what to say.

"I don't know..." Before finishing Alex came in.

Alex looked afraid as she walked in. Her skin was as white as a china doll and had teary eyes.

"Kirsty go upstairs"

"What mum?"

'NOW kirsty"

She did what she was told and gradually walked back up the stairs.

Alex Looked back double checking kirsty was gone then sat beside me.

Alex just cried and cried.

I was shocked, shouldn't I be the one crying.

"Am I a awful person" she asked me.

"Well, yes and no. I thought you were, then I didn't. Now I'm unsure."

"I rang "him" Lauren"

My eyes were teary now.

"No no no why? He'll go after Tegan for sure"

"Look my family isn't safe here, I'm leaving with them now and you will have to stay and wait for him"

Tears still rolled down her face.

"But.. What will happen to me...and more importantly what will happen if he finds Tegan?"

She she looked at me frozen. She said nothing.

She got up and slowly walked away.

I ran to her and yanked her arm.

"TELL ME" I screamed.

She pushed me over to the hard cold ground.

"Your nightmare has only just started."

I watched her walk away crying to myself. I cried so much I could have made a river.
