I saw Rachel standing there, I totally forgot nobody could take her to school and she can't stay home with zombie mum can she.

"Lauren are you taking me to school" she said in a cute tiny voice.

My heart melted. I had always been a suckering for cute things like that.

"No I'm going to grandma's actually. .." I didn't realise how handy this was 5 seconds ago. Rachel could say at grandma's.

"Your going to grandma's too" I said grabbing her hand and rushing out the door.

She didn't say a word to me while walking out the drive, hands linked. Which made me think she wasn't so keen on the trip to grandma's.

"So Rach what do you want to do when you grow up" I said trying to get rid of the awkward silence.

"I might not live that long" she said bursting into tears.

I stopped and bent down on one nee facing her.

"Hey hey hey don't cry, why do you think you won't live that long?" I said eyes watering.

I hated seeing her like this, the last time she cried was when she was a toddler when a kid made fun of her for having no dad. Since then she's never cried until today.

Rachels pov:

I tried so hard not to cry all the time because I don't want to make anyone else sad especially mum.

I couldn't help but cry this time though, I heared mum talking to my dad last night.  I still find it weird calling him dad.

She said people could find me and kill me. She also mentioned a girl called Tegan but I wasn't sure what she said about her.

I didn't want to die so I was scared to walk on the street incase they'd find me, whoever they are.

I told lauren what I heared and she looked angry more than anything else.

"Agh mum is a idiot" she yelled.

"Why?" I said wiping my tears away.

"Rach, she let you hear that.  She should have kept her voice down and dad should have."

"So it's true" There was a long pause.  "I might be taken and killed"

She didn't even look at me just straight past me.

Lauren grabbed my hand again but this time she held my hand tightly.

We walked and walked in silence until she spoke.

"I'm not letting anyone ever go near you Rachel and that's a promise."

Laurens pov:

I can't believe mum, she's hopeless she can't even keep her voice down.

I wouldn't let anything happen to Rachel today,  tomorrow,  next year or ever.

By the time we got to grandma's house it was past lunch. I felt like I walked for years.

Her house was a little white cottage with flower beds surrounding it.

I had bad memories of this house everytime I saw it, I have no idea why because it looks so lovely.

Grandma was planting some seeds when we arrived.

"Grandma grandma" Rachel yelled.

I smiled as we both ran to her.

"Aww my 2 favourite chicks" she said smiling in delight.

Grandma was so happy to see us I don't think the fact that we were here alone or the fact we weren't in school crossed her mind.

We walked inside, I could smell dust which isn't the worst smell but for  some reason I gagged because of it.

I didn't think much of it, I just carried on to the lounge with grandma and Rachel.

Grandma blabbed on about stories when she was little that we'd all heard hundreds of times but still asked questions.

"Grandma can I use the toilet"

"Yes my dear, you know were it is."

I went upstairs but carried on to grandma's room rather than the bathroom so I could find her handbag hopefully with her credit card inside.

The room smelt of cheap and expensive perfume rolled in to one. I felt like I walked in to lush with all the different smells.

Her handbag was easy to find, it lay upside down on her bed.  I walked over and one by one lifted everything out.

The first thing I pulled out was a picture of mum, me and Rachel.  I smiled at it but quickly put it down since I was in a rush.

I pulled out, tissues,  cards,  key rings until I found her purse.

A unclipped the clip on the purse and looked inside.  Unfortunately there were about 15 credit cards and I only know the password to one,  which I couldn't remember the colour of.

Time Was running out, I checked my phone and realised I'd already been 10 minutes and I heard grandma call my name.

I took all 15 credit cards and slowly tiptoed down the stairs, I didn't have time to explain were I was going so I ran. I ran until I got to a village with a bank.
