Michael and I hung out all weekend. Our activities consisted of him screaming as I whine about Melanie ignoring me. We had been texting all day Friday, but after we saw Luke at Pete's I got nothing back from her. I didn't get any homework done, which was a usual occurrence even though I'm a senior. I mean Michael hasn't done any since 7th grade.

"Dude, get off your phone, you're gonna get hit by a car. Dumb ass."
I sigh, shoot Michael a look, turn it off and shove it in the pocket of my giant, puffy coat. My hands, frozen from the October wind, struggle to zip it.
"Ugh! It's so cold." Michael shivers and hugs himself to keep warm. He refuses to wear anything other than a thin leather jacket on, he thinks it makes him cool.
"Come on, you're so stupid your going to freeze." I start to jog toward the schools back entrance. "Brrawah!" I make a sort of screaming sound when I get into the building, shivering from the cold.

"Holy shit." Michael leans to look around me and his eyes get wide. "Dude, look." He grabs me by my shoulders and spins me around.
"Damn." That's all I can say.

Rose, Margo, and Melanie walk towards us almost as if in slow motion. Hips swaying, eyes flashing. All three of them are wearing identical black catwoman suits.
I cough, no choke. "Uh..hey Mel." I look at the floor to avoid looking at something else.
"Hi Calum." She bites her lip seductively.
"I like..." I cough again and my voice cracks, "..your hair." She laughs. Like out loud. At me. I start to cough uncontrollably and Michael slaps me on the back. Melanie's violet contacts flash as she stifiles her giggles.
"See you guys at lunch." Rose grabs Mel's wrist and looks behind herself nervously.
Melanie saunters back leans into me, whispering: "You can look, you know." I can feel her lip on my ear and I take a sharp breath. "That's why i'm wearing it, Cal." She turns back to leave while moving her hips obviously.

"Oh my god Michael." I whisper. My Breathing is thick. Michael leans against his locker with his eyes following Margo. "OOOO!" I collect myself to make fun of him and poke him in the shoulder.
"What!? He tries to be cool about it.
"Dude, you like her, you can hide it, i'm your best friend." I say in a sing song voice.
"Don't be a girl." He galres at me and shoves me out of his way.

Rose still looks worried. Her eyes are wide as she hurries Mel and Margo down the hallway. I look down the hall to where she's staring. Luke. I knew he was going to do something. He's a piece of shit and I tried to be nice.
My plans to bash his face in are interrupted by Margo grabbing Luke by the shoulders. I expected him to push her away a look really pissed, but he look like he was about to cry. Normally I'd be worried but I hate him and Margo has got it covered.
Also fuck him.

"Rose do you know if Luke's coming to the party?" Melanie doesn't bother to look up from her phone to see the look on my face.
"Actually we haven't spoken in two days so I wouldn't know." I pick up my lunch tray throw all of my food in the trash. "Oliver! Come on."

Oliver and I walk down the hallway elbows linked they way we always do when one of us has a bad day.
"Oliver! I need to talk to you!" I spin on my heels, taking Oliver with me, just as I see Luke walking toward us. "Please. I need to talk to you, alone." He looks at me when he says that last part and I just can't help it. I feel a sting in my hand as it hits his face.

Don't even. This sucks, I know, I hate it too.
