chapter 5

Julia's PoV

You gasp waking up abruptly

You notice your in a nice room but your thoughts aren't calm enough to focus on it

Something to do with tea? A man in a suit? What had your dad said? Something about Mr. Menendez? What the actual fuck was going on!?!? Before you knew it you had spiraled into a panic attack and were sobbing uncontrollably

That's when someone opened your door. You froze petrified but also thought to yourself this probably couldn't get worse.

"Um are you okay?" You sit on the bed paralyzed by your fear. The stranger standing at your doorway is visibly confused but seems genuinely concerned.

"I'm not gonna hurt you or anything, i'm Erik by the way" No. No no no no no. You refuse to believe it. Was this the Erik that Laurie had been talking about? Did that mean you were in the Menendez house? You tried not to think about that second part. But you did understand what Laurie was talking about, Erik was very attractive. He was tall with curly brown hair, obviously athletic and in good shape... and in your room....SEEING YOU SOB!?! Oh no. You wipe the tears off your face with your sleeves and shakily put out "I'm-i'm fine" He doesn't seem to believe you, and in the shape you were in you didn't even believe yourself.

"Okay...? well i'm down the hall if you need anything" He shrugs and leaves your room closing the door on his way out. You take a moment to collect your thoughts.

"So if that's Erik... I'm in the Menendez house... So no dad.... but super scary serious business man... wait where was super serious scary business man? wouldn't he have talked to you by now? So it's a good thing he hadn't right? Ugh this is to confusing! All I know is that Erik... who happens to be extremely attractive... was down the hall... extremely attractive person was down the hall from you... okay that's fine... thats okay... that's cool... were cool calm and collected"

You are completely and utterly baffled. You wish Laurie were here, she'd know what to do... WAIT! Why didn't you think of this earlier?! You can text her! You check your pocket for your phone. Oh no. Next pocket? This isn't good. You frantically check the sheets around you. Nothing. Yep it got worse. You're pretty sure that you're fucked. Might as well enjoy living somewhere with running water.

You glance around the room and your eyes land on a door, which your assuming is the bathroom. You get out of bed shakily and walk slowly towards it. You open the door and find another room about 1/3 of the size of your room... and your room was huge. You notice hanger and a rack both empty, so a closet your guessing, a big closet. Sheesh. Then you find another door. "What's behind door number 2" you joke but it ends up being the bathroom.

You struggle trying to navigate the much nicer than yours shower, taking a good 5 minutes to try and turn it on.  You finally turn it on and sheesh is that a nice shower. You're pretty sure that you take the longest shower of.your.life.

When you get out of the shower you notice stuff on your bed. You walk over and see a pair of shorts and a sweatshirt, then much to your suprise a new phone. Maybe this wasn't going to be so bad. You start to set up your new phone and the time reads

Was it really that late? Didn't feel like that. You were a bit hungry but didn't dare to leave the room. You also came to the conclusion that you didnt know Lauries number, which sucked.

You make the bed and lie in it, snuggled up in the oversized sweatshirt left for you, and cry. Your life had gotten turned upside down in a day. We're you ever going to see your best friend again... and even though you disliked him... your dad? A wave of tiredness washes over you and you fall asleep, calm, peaceful, and happy finally.

A/N: This takes place in about 2018 so with all the technology and clothes and things but Erik and Lyle are about the same age as in 1987 (Erik 17, Lyle 19)

Sorry if this chapter was confusing! Might've been because most of the point was about the characters confusion! Also it was Julia's first run in with Erik! What do you think is gonna happen next 😏😏
