chapter 6

Julia's PoV

You wake up too the harsh beeping of your alarm and groan as the noise forces you out of bed. You walk down the hallway, stumbling still half asleep to the bathroom. You turn on the sink alas no water comes out "dammit the water bill" you say forgetting that your dad hadn't payed it. You walk down stairs and see you dad asleep on his chair, starting to produce an oder. You walk to a school the brisk air making you shiver, much more cold than the day before. You enter the school and immediately spot Laurie and run up to her.

"I missed you!" you say hugging her as hard as you can

Then you open your eyes and find yourself clutching one of the pillows in you new room. Lame. You flip over reaching for the new phone and check the time

7:13

You turn over to fall asleep again but your stomach says differently. You try to brush off how hungry you are, but you know you won't be able to fall asleep anymore. It's 7am... no one will be awake it's too early you think to yourself justifying getting out of bed. Your arm wound is hurting more than usual but you shrug it off, probably just bumped it last night.

You open the door holding the edge as to be silent. When you step out you immediately are met with the smell of cinnamon, which makes sense because...there's a cinnamon candle on a table right next to you. Okay in and out quick just a snack you remind yourself. You quickly slip down the hallway and then the staircase stepping lightly. You see a corridor with a corner right after the staircase and follow that.

You peak around the corner and surprisingly you had found the kitchen. Pshh that was easy give me a challenge but then you see the actual challenge. Erik and another person were in the kitchen. ugh I shouldn't have said anything. You hear them talking something tennis related which makes sense based off of what Laurie had told you, but you also remember what Erik had told you

"I'm not gonna hurt you... if you need anything i'm down the hall"

Okay okay now or never you can do this Julia you got this

You unconfidently walk out from the corridor and Erik immediately notices you

"Oh hey! You want something for breakfast?" he was sitting on their island eating cereal but you were more focused on the stranger who was behind him, who subsequently turned around

"That's Lyle, my brother!" Okay now you understood what Laurie was talking about, they were "hot hot" You didn't realized you had zoned out till Erik started talking to you again

"Hey haha earth to... wait you haven't told us your name yet"

"oh" you say in a small voice overwhelmed by everything happening. They weren't even supposed to be awake let alone IN the kitchen. You remember what Erik had asked you "J-Julia"

"So Julia do you want anything for breakfast?" the stranger- wait no Erik has said his name was Lyle his brother. You nod your head yes but you have no idea what they have or what even to have, you normally didn't have breakfast at home.

"Here" Lyle says handing you a bowl of cereal, Erik pouring the milk that was next to him

"oh um thanks" you mumble out quietly

"I-I hope that's okay you can have anything you want" he says probably based on your reaction

"no it's great sorry" Lyle tell you that you don't have to apologize which you apologize to causing the brothers to laugh. A few minutes later you had downed the bowl of cereal and put it down on the table

"um thanks bye" you say trying to get to your room quickly

"Wait!" Lyle voice calls out behind you "You-your arm" you look down and see blood from your arm on your wrist. shit of course that would happen. You quickly rush to your bathroom closing the door to your room

seconds later you hear a knock on your door and Lyle asking you if he can come in "Julia? are you okay? i'm sorry but I have to make sure" he opens the door to your room and quickly spots you in the bathroom, arm draped over the sink

shit hes gonna see my arm shit shit.

"Julia!? who did that to you!?" yup your worst nightmare

"um well-" I struggled to get the words out; i hadn't ever really came to terms with it "my dad.."

"oh Julia... i'm so sorry... I shouldn't have asked i'm sorry" you feel bad about how Lyle reacted... it's not like he was the reason

"it's okay, at least I can get it off my chest I guess" you let out a slight chuckle even though it wasn't really funny

Lyle walked over and to your surprise hugged you, helping keep your arm over the sink

" Me and Erik are here for you now okay Julia"

You melted into the hug Lyle gave you, feeling safe with him. " okay, and you can call me Juls if you want"

"Okay Juls" Lyle says smiling, breaking away from your hug which you secretly wanted to last longer "i'm gonna go grab some rubbing alcohol and a bandage for your arm" He says before leaving and then returning momentarily

"Okay this is gonna hurt like a b*tch so you can squeeze my hand if it does" you nod your head agreeing. Lyle squeezes the bottle and the alcohol pours into your wound. OWWWW! that hurt more than you expected, squeezing Lyles hand pretty hard which he laughs off and then puts your bandage on.

"There ya go! All patched up!" he says proud of his doctor skills which you both start to laugh about

"Lyle! Erik!" your heart stops immediately recognizing the voice

"Shit I have to go. Um well we'll see you soon" he says speaking for both brothers

Maybe it wouldn't be to bad here, with a Lyle and Erik around

A/N: eeeek sorry that this is another short chapter but now Lyle has been introduced to Julia! Sorry if i'm updating a lot too i'm on break and am very bored
