Chapter Two

Another day passed and in just 24 hours, Aria went back to having near constant nausea and cramps. Along with that, she was feeling really moody and even more tired than she was a few days prior. Once again, Ezra took care of her and Katherine on his own during this unusual time.

Aria had been laying on the couch the past few hours due to how tired she was and how uncomfortable she was from her cramps.

Ezra came up from the kitchen and asked "How are you feeling?"

"Just great. You know apart from everything hurting, the urge to vomit whenever I smell something and all I wanna do is sleep, but I can't," answered Aria sarcastically.

Ezra just stood there; he hadn't expected that response from Aria and quite frankly, she hadn't expected that either.

Aria took a deep breath before sighing and saying "I'm sorry Ezra. I don't know what's happening right now. I wanna be there for you and Katherine and just be able to do something besides laying on this couch all day, but-"

"I know," said Ezra as he took Aria's hand and looked her in the eye. "Are you sure you don't want me to take you to the doctor? If you're feeling as bad as you say you are-"

"No, no. I just need to push through this and I'll be just fine. I promise."

They both looked each other in the eye and gave each other small, reassuring smiles.

Just as Ezra was about to sit next to Aria on their couch, they both heard Katherine wake up from her nap and begin to babble loudly from upstairs.

Ezra quickly scooted towards Aria on the couch and asked "What do you say I go upstairs, check on Katherine, bring her down here and the three of us watch a movie together?"

"I'd love that," said Aria. She leaned in to give him a slow, gentle kiss before pulling back and saying "As long as it's not ChinaTown."

Ezra let out a small laugh knowing that Aria absolutely hated that movie and would always end up falling asleep before finishing the entire film whereas Ezra enjoyed it very much.

He went upstairs to get Katherine and after a few minutes, he headed back downstairs with her and said "Look who's here," with a huge grin on his face.

Aria's face lit up as soon as she laid her eyes on her husband and daughter. She already knew she was lucky to have them both in her life, but every time she saw them she felt even luckier. She loved them both so much and wanted nothing more than for them to know that and be happy.

"Hi Katherine!" squealed Aria as Ezra approached her with Katherine in his arms.

Katherine smiled and reached out for Aria as soon as she saw her. Katherine's smile could light up a room. Her energy and happiness was incredible. There was no one else like her. Despite being adopted, Katherine resembled Ezra and Aria a lot. She had dark brown hair just like them and ocean blue eyes like Ezra. She was also fairly small, just like Aria.

Aria bounced Katherine up and down in her lap, making Katherine giggle with every bounce.

Ezra walked over to the DVD player and put in It Happened One Night, knowing that Aria would greatly appreciate it. In all honesty, she'd appreciate any movie that wasn't ChinaTown. Ezra figured it might make Aria feel better to watch one of, if not her favorite movie.

They all scooted close together on that couch, creating yet another beautiful memory on there. For the next hour and forty five minutes, Ezra and Aria had completely forgotten about Aria and her strange illness. This was time they needed to sit together and simply relish in the moment.

Once the movie was over, it was time to give Katherine a bath, which Aria managed to do despite feeling a little sore. Soon after, Ezra ordered some Chinese food for him and Aria to eat. While waiting for the food to arrive, Ezra and Aria worked together to feed Katherine and get as little food on the floor as possible. She may have been a calm baby, but she was still a baby and babies are messy little creatures.

Hours later, Aria laid in bed, unable to fall asleep because no matter what position she laid in, she felt sore and uncomfortable. Ezra was beside her sleeping soundly. He let out a small laugh every now and then which gave Aria a good laugh. She still couldn't believe Hardy was telling the truth when he said Ezra laughs in his sleep.

Within minutes, Aria jolted out of bed and sprinted to the bathroom. The Chinese food she and Ezra had a few hours ago was now sitting in the toilet in front of Aria. She cleaned herself up and headed back to bed as quietly as possible. She miraculously hadn't woken up Ezra and didn't want to wake him now.

Aria wouldn't admit this to Ezra because it would only make him worry, but she had no clue what was going on with her and her body.

Waking up and having to run to the bathroom, feeling sore and uncomfortable for the majority of the day, feeling moody, wanting to kill Ezra one minute then wanting to hug him endlessly the next. If Aria hadn't already known what she knew, she would've said she was pregnant. Ezra and Aria had never really worked hard to prevent a pregnancy so it wouldn't be surprising if Aria was pregnant. Of course, that wasn't the case. It must've been some weird illness that just so happened to resemble pregnancy.

Whatever it was, Aria wasn't going to make Ezra worry about her more than he already was. She would just have to push through.
