Sea Side Memories

I woke with a start as loud voices came from outside. I went to get up to investigate but realised I was not in the best situation to leave the room.

The voices died down, and I looked at the clock. It was late – again. I needed to get back to Los Santos.

As I drove back to the city, I thought about the first time that I met Trevor. I had been in the middle of a deal gone wrong and was trying to get to the meeting point but the guy from the deal was following me. This pissed me off as I didn't want to mix jobs. I pulled the car up near the plane and got out; the other guy did the same. I didn't even realise that Trevor was there waiting for me till a red spark shot past me and into the other guys eye. The smell that followed was disgusting – and it never left.

I made it back to Los Santos by midnight, and decided to stay at a nearby hotel before heading back to the house. I didn't want to deal with Amanda this late.

The next morning I grabbed some breakfast and then headed out. I still didn't want to return to the house, but I knew I needed to at some point. I decided to go to the beach; surely I could clear my mind there?

The usual people were wandering along the beach, the gym fanatics jogging, cycling or lifting weights. Children were running around here and there, not being watched by anyone. That's when I realised where I was sitting – the very bench I had seen him on. He had had his head down, but I knew it was him – my heart told me that. But Jimmy had been a little prick and just sold my yacht, and so I couldn't focus. I also didn't want him to know that Trevor was in Los Santos. I had pulled out my phone in the hopes that I still had his number so I could text him and tell him to meet me later but I didn't. Instead I walked away, pretending I hadn't seen him. My heart broke. At this thought, I began to cry. I wanted him, wished I could go back to that point in time and not be scared to go to him.

That's why I kept coming back to the beach, day after day, hour after hour, on the bench that I saw him on...

It paid off.

A few days later he returned. He was looking out to sea, something on his mind.

"I knew you would be here, I asked Lester to find you"

That last part was a lie, but it was the only way I could think to let him know it was me without saying so.

He went to say my name, but I stopped him. I didn't know who was around that knew me.

"Why the disguise and keeping low? Someone after you?"

He smirked.

"Amanda if she finds out"

He sighed,

"Oh fuck her"

Hearing the pain in his voice made me want to move closer to him.

He then asked me what I wanted, and I was just going to tell him when my cover was blown.

Tracey had spotted me and had come over, screaming at me that I was following her. I turned to look at Trevor but he was gone. My heart broke once again.

I wiped away the tears and went back to the car. Why did everywhere remind me of him?
