January 4th, 2015 Semi-Final vs Slovakia

Angelique's POV

 To say there are nerves in the air is a huge understantement, I think everyone is terrified of this game. I haven't seen the team since this morning's practice. I don't mind since today is a very important day for the guys and all of Canada. I've been running around finishing things up for tonight's semi-final game with Marcus also helping me out. "Can you believe that it's already the semis" I say to Marcus as we work side by side, "It's gone by so quickly, before we know it this team will be torn apart again and returned to their CHL teams" he replies, I nod, "yeah, it's definitely going to be hard for everyone that has been working throughout this tournament with those guys, they're a very special group" I explain smiling slightly at all the great memories that are flashing through my mind. 

*a few hours later*

I look at my watch and see that it's nearing 7pm which is puck drop. I walk out of the player tunnel and I look at the huge turnout at the ACC. I take a deep breath and smile feeling confident about the game that's about to happen. After a few seconds of absorbing the atmosphere I walk back down the tunnel with a smile on my face. I see some of the guys out in the halls getting ready for the game. I leave them to their pre game routines as I go towards the coaches room to see if any last minute things are needed. Someone suddenly grabs me around the waist making me squeal in surprise, "hi Ange" I hear and I know right away that it's Josh. I turn towards him, his arms still around my waist, "aren't you supposed to be getting ready for the game?" I ask him curiously, "yeah, but I wanted to see you before I have to go on the ice" he explains to me smiling, "oh, well you saw me so now you can go and get ready" I tell him, he pouts at me, "that's all your going to give me" he says, I shrug as my arms go around his neck gently as my fingers weave into his hair at the base of his neck. His hands come to my face and he brings his lips onto mine keeping me close, I smile into the kiss, Josh pulls away a few seconds later, "okay now I really need to go get ready, but i'll see you after the game" he tells me before walking to the locker room to get changed into his gear.

I stand against a wall as the players walk through the player tunnel, Josh winks at me, which makes me blush, just like every other time he does that. I walk closer to the ice once all the players are out skating on the ice waiting for the anthems to start. I keep my eyes on Josh with a smile on my face, he must feel me watching him since he looks over at me, I smile wider and he winks at me with a smile on his face. I giggle and make a heart with my hands showing him, his smile becomes wider and then he continues skating.

Before I know it it's the 3rd period with about 5 minutes left in the whole game. It's 5-1 for Canada and Nic Petan had a hat trick which made the crowd go crazy, especially his parents that made the trip to see him play. As the final few seconds wind down, I feel the excitement bubbling in me, the horn sounds and I cheer at the top of my lungs as I jump happily. I see the team congratulate each other on the ice before making a line along the blue line for awards and game MVP's. I keep my eyes on Josh once again and the smile on his face is never ending, which makes me smile. "We're going for gold Angie" Marcus tells me smiling, "it's so exciting" I say hugging him quickly before resuming my position watching the ceremony.

After a few minutes the team walks down the player tunnel, I see Josh walking my way with a smile on his face as he holds his helmet in his hand. I definitely don't expect him to wrap an arm around my waist and kiss me on the lips quickly before going to the locker room. I stand there still a little shocked as I touch my tingling lips. I walk into the hall with a huge smile on my face, I hear some loud cheers coming from the dressing room which makes my smile grow even wider if that's even possible. I take out my phone and decide to instagram about tonight, so I put on the front facing camera and smile as I take the picture, right when the picture is being taken arms come around me and lips come to my cheek. I put my phone down after the picture for a second and Josh looks at me, "hi" I say to him smiling, before he can say anything I focus back on my instagram post, I see the picture and I love it so I decide to post it. "Watcha doing?" Josh asks making me look up at him again, "instagraming this night" I reply tucking my phone back into my pocket before looking at Josh and noticing that he's in his suit. "Have I ever told you how amazing you look in that suit?" I suddenly ask him placing my arms around his neck, "nope" he replies as he places his hands on my hips, "well i'm telling you now, since I can't resist a man in a nice suit" I say winking at him. He laughs before kissing my forehead softly, "well I can't resist a woman in trackpants and a Team Canada jacket" he tells me describing my outfit, "stop it I look so blah" I explain, "not possible Ange you're absolutely stunning no matter what you're wearing" he retorts, I blush looking at my feet shyly. 

Josh lifts my head with his fingers making me look into his eyes, he pecks me lips quickly, "you're amazing Ange" he explains grabbing my hand as he starts walking towards the player exit. I stop him, "I need to go get my stuff smart one" I tell him, he rolls his eyes at my comment but lets me go. I run to the coaches room and grab my coat and purse before going back to Josh. I see him talking to Connor, so I just stand out of the way watching them as they laugh and smile. Connor notices me and smiles at me, he tells Josh, who turns to me smiling, I walk over to them, "hey Connor, great job tonight" I tell him, "thanks Angie, I guess i'll see you later" he replies before leaving us alone. "Ready to go?" Josh asks, I nod taking his hand into mine and he guides me out of the arena so that we can go to the hotel. Josh drops me off at my room with a short goodnight kiss, which makes me pretty darn happy. I fall asleep in the blink of an eye that night replaying the whole game.
