It was know time to go back to Hogwarts. Iris didn't want to go back, only because of the tournament. She didn't want Cedric to risk his life just so he could win a trophy. She knew he was excited though, so she had to be happy for him. "Are you kids ready to go to the station?" Mrs. Pierson asked. "Yea. C'mon Ced!" Iris shouted at him. They got to the station and said their goodbyes.
>fast forward to first day back at hogwarts<
It's the first day back at Hogwarts. The second task of the Triwizard Tournament wasn't until February 24 so Iris wanted to spend time with Cedric. She didn't want to be dramatic but she didn't know what tasks were coming up. Iris and Ced had just met up at the Great Hall to eat breakfast. "So Ced, you excited for the next task?" Iris asked. "Yea definitely. Just need to figure out the second task."

Iris and Ced were in the Hufflepuff common room hanging out before the second task when Professor McGonagall walked in. "Hello. May you come with me." She looked at Iris. They both got up. "Not you Mr. Diggory." He looked confused and almost annoyed. Iris had no clue what was going on. All four of the champions were know at Hogwarts' lake. The second task is to rescue someone important deep in the Hogwarts' lake that is being held by the Merpeople. Cedric knew the second task was something to do with them when he heard there singing in the egg, from the first task.
Cedric was more nervous then ever because his girlfriend wasn't there to cheer him on and support him. "You may begin, at the sound of the cannon." Dumbldore said. Immediately after, the cannon went off. All of the champions dived into the water. Harry jumped out of the water into the air like a dolphin and right back into the water. Everyone cheered. Cedric had a bubble-head charm so he could breath underwater. After swimming for a while he saw 4 bodies floating vertical under the water. He saw Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, some little girl he didn't know, and Iris. He swam straight to her and grabbed her. The Merpeople tried to attack him but he managed to get away. After getting Iris he swam to the surface as fast as he could. She was asleep and pale. He got back to where everyone and up to the surface. Everyone cheered. Iris woke up and gasped for her as soon as they made it to the surface.
"Are you ok?" Cedric frantically asked. "Yea, just c-cold." Iris replied. He could see she was shivering. He swam to the people as fast as he could and got them a towel. They dried off and not much later Victor Krum came to the surface with Hermione Granger in his arms. Quite some time had passed and no sign of Harry Potter. Everyone got a little worried, especially Fleur Delacour because that was her baby sister, Gabrielle, down there. Fleur was attacked by the Grindylows when she was participating in the second task, therefore, she couldn't save her sister. Harry had made it to the surface with both, Ron and Gabrielle. Fleur's face showed much relief.
It was nw 6:30 pm and all the students had came to eat dinner at the Great Hall. "So that's where Professor McGonagall took you haha." Cedric laughed. "I thought I was in trouble there for a moment when she took me." They both laughed. After dinner they went to the Hufflepuff common room. Can we talk." Iris asked Ced. "Sure!" Cedric replied. "I don't know how to say this because I know you love doing this, but I'm so scared for you right now. All these tasks I just." Cedric interrupted her by cupping her face with his hand and kissing her on the head. "I am gonna be fine. I promise. I will make it out of this last task perfectly together in one piece, just for you." Cedric said. Iris started to tear up. "I know." Cedric looked at Iris and kissed her. "I love you." He said. "I love you too." They cuddled on the couch by the fire and fell asleep.
