I've fallen in love many times over the years
But I've never been in love.
The difference is simple.
I fall in love with most people I grow close to.
I learn to love their actions, who they are, why we're friends.
They make me who I am; we fit.
Our jokes, our hugs, our conversations.
They make me smile and want to stay.
When I fall, I will love and miss you forever, always.
I've never been in love.
I don't know what it's like.
But what I do know is
The difference is the person I've been in love with may leave, but the people who I've fallen in love with and who reciprocate never will.
Distance may increase and interactions may not be as frequent, but the feeling never goes away.
I hope someday I find someone who I fall in love with first and then become in love with.
