Doflamingo x Reader {I Didn't Think It Would Work}

Set Into Motion

After the Meeting...

"I hate Kaido... let's go home (Y/n) I don't want to be here any longer than necessary" Doflamingo had started walking outside but stopped when the girl in his arms didn't reply. Though when he looked down, he understood why (Y/n) had fallen asleep in his arms. "Fufufu. Sleep tight my little Queen I'll make sure we're back in Dressrosa before you wake up~"

Doflamingo's Pov

There was no doubt in my mind that (Y/n) would make an excellent Queen but I did worry for her safety due to the kind of work I was involved with. Sure, I was the most influential broker in the New World though it didn't stop individuals from trying to destroy what I had built.

"Hm... I won't be able to fly back to Dressrosa, there's nowhere near as many clouds as I need" Since I knew Kaido's men weren't going to be courteous and take me back to my island I turned around to ask for a guest room for the night. If there weren't any clouds tomorrow, I would have to make other arrangements. At least Kaido seemed to like (Y/n) but he was drunk so he could easily change his mind later on. "Let's find you a nice comfy bed to sleep in~"

The Next Morning...

(Y/n)'s Pov

"Hm... I thought we went back to Dressrosa yesterda- Ahhhhhh!" As thunder boomed from outside, I jumped in fright before I landed on the cold stone floor. I didn't expect there to be thunder this morning and boy was that one of the things I really didn't like. "Why are you on the floor (Y/n)?"

"I-I'm afraid of thunder... Why are we still here Doffy, I thought we were going back to Dressrosa?" His shades weren't covering his eyes so I could see his bright red orbs staring down at me but they also held concern within them. "There weren't enough clouds yesterday. Come here my Queen I'll keep you safe from the thunder"

"W-We'll have to wait until the rain stops before we can leave, right?" As Doflamingo picked me up he sat me in his lap before he took my chin between his fingers. "Sadly, I can't fly in weather like this but as soon as it stops, we can take our leave back to Dressrosa. Did you want me to find you some breakfast, my love?" Breakfast sounds nice right now though I didn't want Doflamingo to leave me alone.

"Can someone bring us some? I don't want you to leave me and I'd rather stay here under the warm covers" The man stared at me for a few minutes but finally, he snapped his fingers before a clone was created. "I'll have my clone retrieve us some breakfast. Kaido's men are not to be trusted and I don't want to give you anything that may have been poisoned by them"

"Okay, that's a good plan Doffy. How long do you think this storm will last for?" His eyes shifted towards one of the windows before he returned his focus to me. "The clouds look pretty dark but I'd say we'll be able to leave by noon. Just sit tight my Queen and I'll help take your mind off of the storm" I smiled at that as I cuddled closer to his chest before he leaned back on the pillow and wrapped his arms around me.

"Thanks for not making fun of my fear of thunder Doffy it means a lot to me" One of his hands was trying to untangle the knots from my messy hair but he paused for a second to reply. "You're my Queen, (Y/n) I don't care whether or not you're scared of thunder. Hell, you could be afraid of everything and wouldn't matter to me. I used to have terrible nightmares but ever since I met you, I've had only peaceful nights"

"Hehehe. You certainly have a way with words Doffy... There's something I wanted to ask you though" I had moved to sit up as Doflamingo remained still below me. "What is it (Y/n)?" It was a troubling subject but I knew that the man had some shady businesses that he ran but I didn't want to be involved with that. "The auction house... The experiments on children... The Dwarf Princess... It needs to stop. You're destroying innocent people's lives and you don't seem to care"

"It's not that simple (Y/n)... but for you, I'll do anything. Once we get back, I'll cut off all ties to the auction house though I don't experiment on children" Hm, that was interesting it must not have begun yet. "That mad scientist Caesar does... If I find out that you don't change Doflamingo I won't stay with you any longer"

The comment made his eyes widen as he quickly pushed himself up with a frown on his face. "Y-You can't leave me (Y/n)! I'll do as you ask just please don't go!" I definitely liked this side of Doflamingo but I wasn't going to believe his words until I saw it with my own eyes. "It's alright Doffy I'll stay with you. I just don't want to see people get hurt when I can do something about it... though we need to prepare for when Straw-hat Luffy makes his appearance"

"Straw-hat Luffy, are you talking about that rookie pirate from the East Blue?" Luffy wasn't just any rookie pirate and we would be in big trouble if Doflamingo wasn't going to take this threat seriously. "You've heard of him?" His head slowly nodded before he responded. "Yes, we just had a warlord meeting discussing him. Little brat took out Crocodile you know and now the seven warlords of the sea are down to six. Fufufu. Tell me more about this boy"

45 Minutes Later...

Doflamingo's Pov

"So, this rookie is going to take me out and led to the warlords being disbanded? Fufufu. I love you and all (Y/n) but that seems a little too farfetched to be the truth" How could I be defeated by such a weak brat it just didn't seem possible. "Doflamingo take this seriously or else you're going to end up in prison and I'm going to be all alone"

"Fufufu. I'm not going to let that happen (Y/n)... What shall we do with the brat, should I send someone to kill him now before he can become a threat to us?" The color of (Y/n)'s face slowly started to drain but she quickly recovered as her head shook back and forth. "No, Doffy you can't just kill off the main character! It doesn't work like that!"

"Hm... I'm pretty sure I can kill whoever I want. Fufufu. Maybe we should go visit Crocodile in prison and see if he can tell us any valuable information. What do you think (Y/n) do you want to join me on a trip to Impel Down?" I could already hear the screams of the prisoners running through my head. "Doffy... That face your making is extremely creepy please stop and never do it again"

"If you say so, my love... Ah, perfect timing~ You start eating (Y/n) and I'll make some calls to have my ship brought over here" My clone had returned with (Y/n)'s breakfast so I let her eat that as I made a few calls. If this brat was going to make an appearance on my island in two years then I needed to know everything I could about him. There was no way I was going to let him take away anything that I worked so hard to build. "Yum~ Do you want some Doffy?"

"Just let me finish up with this first alright?" As she nodded her head, she continued eating the meal in front of her as I made a call to my crew. They should be in the area so once I knew their location I could fly over there during a break in the storm. Sure, they could meet me here but it would be bad if any of Kaido's men tried to attack the ship. "Yes, Young Master?"

"How far are you away from Kaido's island? I have a trip to Impel Down and I need my ship to get there"
