Doflamingo x Reader {I Didn't Think It Would Work}

It Started With A Sponge

"(Y/n) did you want to go to the Dollar Tree with me!?" A young girl was sitting in her living room when her Mum yelled at her from the front door. After she heard the last part, she turned off the tv and started running up to her room. "Just let me grab my purse Mum!" Her room was on the second floor but it only took her a couple of seconds to reach her room since she had run there.

Her purse was hanging on her desk chair but once it was in hand, she ran back downstairs to meet her Mum at the front door. "Meet me in the car (Y/n) and lock the door" Her mum left quickly but the girl didn't take long before she was ready and heading out of the door as well. She only took a minute to lock the door before she ran to the car where her Mum was waiting for her.

"We'll stop at the grocery store as well (Y/n) I want to be sure you have enough food while I'm away on my business trip" (Y/n) nodded as her Mum exited the driveway and headed for town, they only lived about 15 minutes away from town so it didn't take them long. "And you leave tonight?" Her Mum probably had told her schedule all ready at least a few times but the girl couldn't remember the times except that she was leaving at some point tonight.

"Yes, I have to catch the 12:45 flight so I'll leave the house around 9 and drive to Grandma's house then she'll take me the rest of the way so I can leave my car at her place. Are you sure you don't want to spend the week there?" (Y/n) thought she'd be fine at home so she declined, while she did love spending time with her Grandma didn't love the fact the lady didn't have Wi-Fi.

"Mum, I'm 18! I think I can handle myself for a week, don't worry the house won't be burned down while you're away!" The girl was a high school senior and would be graduating at the end of the school year, she had already been accepted to a university a few towns over. While she acted childish at times the girl was actually pretty smart, it's one of the reasons she was already accepted into the university and on a full-ride scholarship as well. All (Y/n) needed to do was keep her grades up and this time next year she'd on the track into adulthood.

"Don't remind me (Y/n)! The time has just flown by!" Since her school was on a weeklong break the girl didn't even need to leave the house but she still needed to study for her upcoming tests. "I know I'm getting old!" (Y/n) and her Mum continued to joke around until their car pulled into the Dollar Tree parking lot. "Don't buy too much junk (Y/n), here take $20"

"Thanks, Mum!" As (Y/n) walked into the store she headed straight for the toy section. She walked down the aisle slowly as her eyes scanned each item until one caught her eye. "Grow your own Doflamingo and there's only one left!" Reading the back of the package (Y/n)'s eyes lit up, she knew the words of the back couldn't be true but at least she'd get a cute little sponge of Doflamingo. "Did you find anything good (Y/n)? I got my stuff so I'm ready to leave when you are"

"I found my husband!" Once her Mum had seen the little package with the girl's favorite anime character on it, she understood what (Y/n) meant. "Oh, (Y/n) I wish you would find a real boyfriend" As her Mum had insulted her man (Y/n) held a hand to her heart as she let out a gasping sound. "Me and Doffy had a special connection Mum we're soulmates!"

"Hehehe. If your soulmate wants to join us for dinner sometime please tell him he's welcome to come over whenever he likes" (Y/n) ignored her Mum as she went to find a few bags of candy before she paid for items and followed her Mum to the car. "Just you wait Mum I'm going to grow my own Doflamingo in our bathtub once you leave for your trip!"

"Are you sure that you're 18 (Y/n)?"

"Yes, I'm sure!" The teasing continued until they reached the supermarket. "Do you want to come in the store (Y/n)?" The girl shook her head as her Mum exited the car but she did leave the keys encase (Y/n) wanted to listen to the radio. With her Mum gone (Y/n) decided to read over the kit so she could see what needed to be done later in the night. 

"Step one, fill up your bathtub. Step two, add ½ cup sea salt and stir. Step three, after salt, is dissolved add capsule and wait. Warning, do not leave your capsule unattended or Doflamingo may drown as a result" (Y/n) found the warning odd but then again maybe it was meant as a reference to him being a devil fruit user so he couldn't swim.

She also found it odd that she needed to add sea salt to the water but if the instructions said she needed to do it then (Y/n) was going to follow them. Though she wouldn't be telling her Mum that she was using her salt for such a silly reason. Her Mum came back to the car about 15 minutes later and loaded the groceries before she started driving them back home.

"(Y/n) how come you need to wait until I'm gone before you grow your man?" (Y/n) had told her Mum that she was waiting until she was alone before she'd test out her kit but her Mum had grown curious about it. The girl wouldn't even let her Mum read the packaging. "It's a private matter Mum! This is between me and Doflamingo you can't be here!"

"Okay dear if you insist. I'm leaving in 30 minutes so you can have your date with your sponge very soon but make sure to send me pictures, I want to see the end product" Since her Mum already had her luggage in the car (Y/n) and she talked some more until her timer when off, signaling that she needed to go.

"See you in a week (Y/n), be good while I'm away!" (Y/n) walked her Mum to the door and waited with the door opened as she watched her Mum get into her car before she backed out of the driveway. Once she was out of sight (Y/n) quickly closed the door then ran to the bathroom. "Operation Doflamingo is a go!"

As (Y/n) started to fill up the tub she made sure the water wasn't too hot but also not too cold. She remembered when using magic capsules as a kid the water should be just hot enough that it didn't hurt your hand when you touched the water. The tub didn't take long to fill and once the taps were off (Y/n) went back downstairs to retrieve the sea salt and the Doflamingo kit.

She filled a measuring cup with the correct amount of salt before she grabbed the kit from the Dollar Tree bag and headed back upstairs. "Add ½ cup of sea salt and stir" Following the instructions (Y/n) poured the salt and started to stir it around with her hand until she felt it had dissolved. She washed the salt off her hands and dried them before she opened up the kit.

The capsule wasn't any bigger than any other magic capsule's but this one a pink and even had Doflamingo's jolly roger printed in black ink on one side of the capsule. "That's a nice detail" Her arm stretched out over the tub before she opened her hand and allowed the capsule to fall into the tub. Nothing happened at first but (Y/n) was prepared to wait so she sat down on the bathroom stool as she watched the tub.

15 Minutes Later...

"Maybe it's defective?" As (Y/n) was about to give up and fish the capsule out of the water when something strange started to happen to the water. It had started turning pink as bubbles and foam started to form and it kept getting higher as it was threatening to slip over the top of the tub. (Y/n) stood there unsure about what to do but she got a towel ready encase the foam spilled out onto the floor.

As the foam stopped getting any higher (Y/n) let out a breath of relief that it didn't spill over. "That was close" With one problem taken care of she still had one more to deal with, the pink foam she figured that it would be fine if she just pulled the plug then rinse out what remained.

She was going to reach into the tub but stopped as she realized her long sleeve sweater would get wet if she didn't remove it so the girl moved to take it off first. (Y/n) was wearing a tank top underneath anyway so it was fine.

Pulling her sweater off she hung it on the doorknob before she made her way back to the tub, her hand only made it about a foot near the foam before it started to move again. "Shit not again!" (Y/n) backed up and grabbed her towel again but the oddest thing started to happen, the foam started to disappear.

Well not exactly disappear more like it started moving into one place before it started to take the shape of feathers. (Y/n) wasn't sure whether she should start running away or just scream but she did neither as she only watched. After all the foam had disappeared (Y/n) was left to stare at a man who was now gripping the side of her bathtub but it wasn't just any man.

"Doflamingo!?"
