I watch as people stroll in and out of the coffee shop I work at. Seeing many different faces, some smiling, some looking not so happy. The day goes by slow when all you do is take orders. The only exciting thing here is the fact I get free coffee of choice.
I take the order of a young woman. She being one of the two customers in the store at the moment.
"You may wait over there while your drink is being made." I tell her, pointing at the waiting area.
I give the order to my coworker and wait for other people to stroll in.
Something about this job makes the time go by really slow. One minute of taking orders feels like an hour.
Two particularly loud males, both looking like they're in their twenties, walk into the store. The shorter one walks up to the counter while the other goes to sit in a booth.

I smile at the man. "Good afternoon, may I take your order?"
He looks up to the menu on the wall as he opens his mouth to speak.
"What do you recommend?" he asks, sounding just curious enough.

"My favorite is the iced coffee with chocolate sauce as well as caramel sauce." I tell him, giving my most honest answer.

"Alright, I'll have that one in a large and a normal iced coffee also in large." he orders.
I smile at him, "will that be all?"

Now only I take in his facial features. A soft smile, fluffy hair that for some reason falls just right, and beautiful greenish eyes.
The man nods as he gives me money, telling me to keep the change.
I thank him and point him to the waiting area.

As I turn around to give my coworker the order, he is nowhere to be found.
Why does he always go on break without telling me?

I start making the drinks myself as I pay attention to any new customers that might walk in.
"Hey, Ethan!" I hear some guy call out from one of the booths. The man who ordered turns around to his friend.

"We got invited to a party!" he excitedly tells the boy. The man who ordered just responded with a: Sweet, as he turned around just when I finished his order. I placed it on the counter for him to take, as he happily grabbed them and gave me a wink.
Me being the most introverted person in the world, all I could do was give him a smile and slightly blush.

He walked over to his friend as they started rambling on about the party.

As I catch myself staring at the two men for too long, another coworker comes into the coffee shop, signaling that my shift is over.
Happy that I can finally go home, I walk to the back to get my stuff and put on a different shirt. As I walk out of the counter the two men stand up to leave. The one who ordered looking at me as he puts on his coat.
I walk out of the shop and meet a very cold wind. Having no coat with me, I cross my arms to keep myself warm knowing it probably won't do much.
Walking from the coffee shop to my apartment is a 15 minute walk, but if I start walking just a little faster I will get there in a good 11 minutes.

As I mind my own business, having nothing else to do besides thinking about anything, I hear a voice yell "hey! Excuse me."
I look behind me, seeing the man who ordered and his friend run up to me.

"Miss, you dropped your wallet." one of them says, slightly out of breath.
I look at the wallet that he is holding out to me and confirm it is actually mine.

I mentally slap myself for even dropping my wallet in the first place.
"Oh my God, thank you so much!" I take it from him as he eyes me up and down ever so slightly.
"You can't already lose the tip I gave you, miss." the shorter man comments, winking at me.
I subtly laugh at him, not knowing what to do.
"Well thank you again, but I really should keep going. It's kind of cold." I tell the two men.
They both nod, wishing me a good day, as I do the same and walk away afterward.
