As we got back to Jason's house it was something over 7 pm, indicating that the actual party already started. Three cars that I didn't recognize were parked in front of the house. Ethan and I walked to the front door, he unlocked the door with the key Jason gave him before we left. He pushed the door open, stepped back, and put his hand on my lower back, indicating for me to go first.

"What a gentleman." I said to him, smirking at him with a playful tone in my voice.
He smiled childishly at me.
"I know."

I walk into the living room with Ethan following behind me. There are about 10 to 15 more people than there were before, standing in a crowd around the room. Some look at us but most of them are too distracted to notice us.

I walk over to Jason, who is standing near the table with all the alcohol on top of it.
"Hey (y/n)!" Jason shouts at me. He clearly drank a little too much already.
He throws his arm over my shoulder and walks me around the room.
"How was your little date?" he asks me looking down at me and moving his eyebrows up and down. I look at him confused as we come to a stop.

"We just went to the store for some snacks. Ethan put them on the kitchen counter I believe."
Jason nods at me, then walks away towards the kitchen without saying a word.
As he walks away I get a chance to look at all the people. One girl with bright blue hair is talking a little too loud to some people. Seeing their facial expressions they also think it's too loud. Their eyebrows scrunch up now and then indicating the volume change in the girl's voice.

A group of five boys is standing near a table. Two of them are jokingly arguing. The other three are just watching them. at least I thought they were all paying attention to their two friends, but as I was scanning the three boys I found the last one already looking at me. We made eye contact for a good ten seconds. I looked away quickly and went to find somebody I know.
I scan the room, and the first one I see is Ethan. He is standing near a group of people. Not necessarily talking to them but just watching them as they talk and make jokes.

I walk over to Ethan and stand next to him, leaning against the wall.

"Are you enjoying yourself?" I ask him, looking at him as he turns towards me.
He nods hesitantly.
"I'm not really the party kind of guy, I guess."

I nod at him as I break our eye contact to look at the group in front of us.
Mark is drunkenly showing off his muscles to Amy. Amy on the other hand is not very impressed by Mark's extravagant moves. She basically slaps his arm away, rolls her eyes, and laughs at him.

As I look at the other side of the room, I see Jason talking to the three guys I saw before.
I turn to Ethan again, trying to get his attention by saying his name. Him being as deaf as one person can be doesn't hear me.
I lay my hand on his lower arm and I feel him jump a bit, clearly taken aback by the touch.

"Sorry didn't mean to scare you." I say as I try to pull my hand away from his arm. But before my fingertips leave his arm he puts his hand over mine.

"It's okay. I was too focused on Mark's behavior." Ethan says, chuckling at Mark.
"Anyways what were you saying?"

I point at Jason and the three guys.
"Who are those guys that Jason is talking to?"

I look at our hands that are still connected. Feeling my cheeks burn up, I swiftly slide my hand away from under his. He looks at my motion and looks at the guys I pointed at.

"I am not sure. I have never seen them before, although the guy on the right does seem familiar."
Ethan tells me.
The guy on the right happens to be the one who I caught staring at me just a few minutes ago.

I nod, not really satisfied by the answer.
"I am going to join their conversation."
Clearly, this sentence shocked Ethan as well as it shocked me. I do not know how I suddenly have the courage to just begin a conversation like that, but before Ethan could say anything my legs already started moving.

Without realizing what I am actually doing, I found myself next to Jason and facing the three guys.

"Hey, Jason. What's up." I try to sound as cool as possible?
Jason just looks at me, then proceeds to laugh at me.

His face is glowing red from laughter as he mocks me.
"What's up. Jesus (y/n), you are not a rapper."

I roll my eyes at him as I let out a small chuckle.
The boy who stands in the middle does a cool two-finger wave at me.

"Hey how are you enjoying yourself?" he asks me. I am kind of put off by him not introducing himself first.
I look at him and tell him that I'm doing fine.

Then, the guy on the right open his mouth to say something. Though the only thing he got out of his mouth was "I am" because two hands suddenly pulled me out of the group from behind me.

This was so sudden that I almost tripped over my feet three times in the process. The two hands are helping me balance. I look over at Jason who is staring intensely at me and whoever is holding me.
I turn around, and I find myself a little too close to Ethan. His hand resting on my hips, not letting me go but also not squeezing me.

"Ethan what-" I say as he puts his hand over my mouth.

"Now (y/n), don't say a word."
