"I don't think we are being hunted," Leo tried to rationalize.
"Grimore just happens to be stormed after we leave?" Max asked.
"If we are being hunted then why did they not come for Norah and Cristina?" Leo argued.
"Maybe they just don't know about them," Max reasoned.
"One thing's for sure we can't go home if something is after us," Norah entered the argument.
"You mean after Max and Leo?" Cristina corrected.
"Really?" Max said annoyed.
"I'm just keeping track of the details," Cristina said.
"Here's a good idea, if someone is after you guys then let's keep moving!" Jade yelled.
"Watch yourself kid," Max warned. "How old are you anyway?"
"15, and how about you watch it because let's remember who's on a wanted list," Jade sneered.
"Max back off," Cristina instructed. "I've decided you aren't half bad after all," she told Jade. They finally decided to leave. The sky was turning dark and they weren't even close to Foihar's border. They decided to set up camp. Norah was alone in her tent. She took her hair down and put it into a loose braid. She feared they wouldn't make it to Foihar's shore in time. What would happen if they missed the land bridge? She could barely sleep. Old memories plagued her.
"Stella where are you going?" Norah called to her sister. Norah had awoken from the golden light of dawn spilling in through her windows. She had walked out onto her balcony when she noticed her sister creeping through the front garden. She rushed downstairs to greet her sister.
"I'm going hunting," she had replied. Norah desperately wanted to join her. It was as if Stella could read her mind. "Would you like to join me?". Norah's grin served as a yes. Stella instructed Norah to shift, she did so. They exited the castle grounds and began their trek to, well Norah didn't know where they were going.
"Stella where are we going?"
"The place where there is huntable food,". It occurred to Norah that they were approaching the border.
"Stella, mom and dad say not to go so close to the border," Norah advised.
"I know, but we are going to a place where it's not guarded," Stella informed her. Norah uneasily trailed behind her sister. They reached the border, but they didn't cross. Instead they walked alongside it. Norah immediately recognized the cave. Stella had previously taken her there a few weeks prior.
"What are we doing back here?" Norah asked. Stella ignored her question. Stella led the way into the cave. Norah noticed an exit in the back. They snuck through the cave and out the back. They were now in Grimorian territory.
"Stella can I stay here?" Norah asked. Stella nodded. Norah admired her sister's bravery, she wished she weren't afraid to cross but she was. Stella knew she'd be though. Norah waited for nearly an hour before her sister returned. Norah had been terrified that her sister wouldn't return. Stella had come back with multiple fish and a rabbit. On their way back Norah made Stella promise her something.
"Promise me you will never cross the border again," Norah told her.
"Why? Don't you like the food I can capture?" Stella asked.
"What if you get caught? I couldn't bear to lose you," Norah explained. Stella didn't want her sister to endure pain, so she reluctantly promised. This put Norah's mind at ease. Stella had never broken a promise to her. They returned to the castle and the rest of the day went smoothly.
