 "Holy-" Kelp began.

"Shit," Luna finished. The world seemed to move in slow motion as the Soomera shattered on the ground. The group stood in stunned silence as they stared at the chunks of glass all around them. They didn't see the egg roll to the side, it looked just like the shards, except for it's bluish tint and organic shape. It only took a few moments before the arguing began.

"So, what now?" Alex asked.

"I-" Lily tried to say, but her mouth still hung open in shock.

"I'm going to need you to explain," Luna put a hand to her temple. "Why your first instinct was to hand a breakable object to a blind person?" she gritted her teeth.

"He was the closest to me," Lily choked a reply. As the group argued no one but Hope noticed Jade picking up a chunk of the Soomera. Serina turned just as Jade placed the glass in her staff.

"Jade what are you-" Serina was cut off as she watched the staff coil around the glass piece. She shut her eyes at the blinding light being emitted from the staff. Rapid winds circled the startled group. Jade used her free hand to cover her face. When the chunk had fully nestled into the staff the wind stopped.

"What the hell just happened?" Max questioned.

"It's not over yet," Laiko said as he stared at the egg that levitated towards Jade. Jade gripped the staff tightly as the light grew and grew and grew until it engulfed the area. Everyone began to float, then they were violently slammed onto the ground. A few of them muttered curses as they landed on the glass. The egg slowly landed on the ground, then cracked. A beam of light shooting from the egg. The light died down when the egg fell open.

No one approached the opened egg, except for the fearless siblings: Jade and Alex. The two crouched next to the egg, two pairs of eyes peered back. Jade and Alex both took a creature.

"Dragons?" Norah announced, astonished.

"No, soomeras," Hope said.

They sat in Lily's living room, watching the two creatures Alex and Jade held. No one had said anything on the walk back, they were all too stunned. Cristina broke the silence.

"Hope would you mind telling us about what the hell a soomera is?" Cristina and the rest of the group stared at the bunny sized creatures. They had snake-like bodies, with a single pair of arms, two pairs of wings (layered on top of each other), a pair of horns that angled towards each other and a lining that protruded down the length of their backs. They had solid gold diamond eyes and their scales- their scales were incomprehensible. Both of them had scales of a deep onyx. Even though they were mainly black, their scales shifted colors the way the orbuculum had. The one on Jade's lap had flickers of blues and magentas that flashed. Whereas the one Alex held didn't shift colors as much, but quick flashes of blue would appear on the young soomera's body.

"Long ago, before magic leaked into our world, the only species that possessed magic were soomeras. They were created from the magic, however, other creatures discovered if they kill the soomeras they'd gain their magic. It didn't take long for the soomeras to be hunted to extinction. Or so we thought," Hope turned her head to look at the soomeras. "It seems that the ancient Ulalimians were able to encase an egg in glass and use it as a magic vessel. The only reason those soomeras were able to remain in that egg for thousands of years was because they're twins. Their magic protected them," Hope explained.

"So what do we do with two live animals?" Max asked. "Do we have to kill them?" he questioned.

"Max!?" Lily scolded.
