The next few days passed quickly, and that without another word from Niall. I guess I half expected him to text me again soon after we had first obtained contact, but he didn't, and for the first few days, I found myself constantly on my guard, just waiting for him to text me.
How waiting for a message from a stranger got me so on guard was beyond my understanding, but it didn't last too long. It took me about two days before I came to realise that he wasn't going to text me back. I assumed he had forgot, or simply just decided not to contact me again. Either way, I wasn't that surprised.
It was Wednesday, Woden's day actually, but to most people it was just Wednesday. I had got up early to get ready for my first class of the day and after that, it went thick and fast. I had now just left my last class of the day and was walking over campus on my way to meet with my study group.
It consisted of a group of classmates. Naturally, I knew some of them better than others, but I felt comfortable enough to talk with all of them. We weren't really that many either, only six, and considering the amount of students in most classes that wasn't a lot.
The six of us had been meeting every Wednesday since early in the semester, and I hoped I'd get to participate in a similar arrangement the following semester. It had been a great help, and considering it was only a week and a half left of the second semester teaching, this would be the last time we met up before the exams.
"Payson, wait up!" I heard a female voice shout and immediately recognised it as Sophie's. It got confirmed when I turned towards the voice and discovered the tall figure rushing towards me. I stopped until she caught up with me and we continued walking alongside each other.
"Hi, how are you?" Sophie smiled at me. I answered her and returned the question as we made our way towards our destination, just making small talk as we walked.
Sophie and I had had classes together since the start of the first semester, but it wasn't really until the start of the second semester we got to know each other; when the study group started meeting. Over the short amount of time we had known each other, I had come to learn that she was a really nice and funny girl, and in addition to that she was possibly the ultimate study partner.
"Have you started revising for the exams yet?" Sophie asked me once we had sat down in the group room. We were the first ones to enter the room, but the others would arrive soon.
"Barely, I just handed in my last term paper." I answered and let out an audible sigh at the thought of the exams. I knew the coming weeks were going to be though; first the period before, then during and lastly after the exams. Before because of the revising I had to do, during because of obvious reasons, and after due to my talent of overthinking.
"Lucky, I've still got a bit left on mine." She said, just as the door opened. I postponed my answer as I glanced towards the door to see who walked in. The first person to walk through the door was Josh and greeted us with a nod and a smile. Robert and Parker followed closely behind and closed the door behind them. The only one left to arrive then was Katie.
Katie soon arrived, running late from her previous class, and we instantly got to work. It was mostly just tasks and questions from the curricula we had been through since the past meeting and we helped each other whenever someone needed help. It was a great help, because in 99 percent of the cases there was at least one person who understood the task and knew how to solve it.
I was currently helping Sophie when my phone made a sound, signalising that I had just received a text message. I ignored it as I continued helping Sophie, not seeing the necessity of checking the message; it was most likely nothing important anyway, they would have called if it was.
