I hardly slept last night, my mind was going crazy.

Me and Erich stayed down stairs all night, at one point I heard him talking to Cindy. I'm glad that he's not being a total dick.

Erich wasn't downstairs, I assume that he's gone upstairs to get ready.

I got off the couch and headed into the kitchen. The broken glass from last night hadn't been cleared up. To keep myself busy, I decided to clean up the mess.

I needed anything to keep my mind busy. To be honest, i'm surprised with how well i'm dealing with this. At some point, I will have to see Kevin.

Am I mentally strong enough for that? God knows.

I need to be strong. For Erich, for Cindy and most importantly Cassidy. There's no way that she's safe, it's naive to think that she is.

The glass had almost been cleared when Cindy came in.

I don't think she slept very well.

"How did you sleep?"

"Fine thank you."

She was clearly lying.

Even when she didn't need to be polite, she still was.

I poured some coffee into a mug and offered a cup for Cindy, she accepted.

"You've changed him."

I was a bit taken aback by her words.

"How so?"

"Last night I was telling Erich about Cassidy and he seemed to soften. He's still adamant that he won't have a relationship with her, but I can tell that he wants to."

"Erich has always been soft, it just depends on the person he talks to. He's the master of hiding his emotions. In all honesty, I don't even think that he knows what he wants. He'll get her back, I promise you."

Cindy had a grateful smile on her face.

We sat in silence while drinking our coffee until Erich came in.

He looked rough.

Erich never looked rough.

This was hurting him massively, it was obvious.

He got out his packet of cigarettes and lit one up in the kitchen, he then opened the kitchen window and stood there for a while. I watched every inhale and exhale of the smoke.

Erich sighed.

"I know where they are."

Me and Cindy looked at Erich who was still smoking the cigarette while looking outside.

The nicotine buzz must have calmed him.

Erich's eyes trailed onto mine.

"He's uh there."

It was as if he couldn't bring himself to say where they were, I could tell where he meant.

Tenderloin.
