The Past - Erich Blunt

the night.

I swear this is literally the quickest I have written and edited a chapter, you know why? I tried SO hard to not get distracted by my phone oops!

Here is the night.

The journey to the event wasn't as long as I thought it would be.

Considering how important tonight was, I was surprised how calm I was feeling. It was a pleasant change.

Erich had his hand firmly on my thigh through out the journey, he seemed nervous and I don't blame him. There would be paparazzi everywhere trying to get any minor details about his work life and love life. We hadn't discussed if we were going to go public yet.

When we arrived at the venue, one of the security guards opened the door of the car. Once Erich was out of the car, he leaned back in to guide me out. I smiled at him to give him a sense of reassurance, I could tell that he appreciated it.

My eyes took a few moments to adjust to the lights of the cameras.

It was rather overwhelming.

As we walked into the club, the noise of the music silenced the sounds of the camera shutters in the distance.

The club was huge. There were white and gold balloons across the dance floor and strobe lights were beaming across the room. It certainly had a busy atmosphere.

A glass of Champagne was placed in my hand.

I could see a few faces that I recognised, they were his coders that I would see on the rare occasion that I popped into Applsn.

Me and Erich parted ways with a kiss. Although the night was meant for celebrations, this was still a form of work and I knew that.

I spotted Ivana and Beth in a corner and they both looked gorgeous.

Ivana had on a lacy white body suit and a pair of coral coloured tailored trousers with heels, her hair was in it's usual curly form. Beth certainly had good taste in women.

"Hey lovebirds!"

Beth was smiling from ear to ear and she stood up to hug me. She looked beautiful tonight.

Ivana reached out a hand and I dismissed it.

"Oh please no formalities. You're with my cousin now we're basically family, you can give me a hug."

She stood up and smiled kindly at me, I pulled her in for a tight hug.

The three of us sat and spoke for a while.

I watched Beth hold onto Ivana's thigh during our conversation. It was strange seeing her so in love, I could tell by the way she looked at Ivana and the way that Ivana looked at her that they were both madly in love.

It was heart warming.

"So you're the one who makes Erich soft?

Ivana spoke teasingly as she sipped the fizzing liquid in her glass.

"Well I wouldn't say I physically make him soft, if you get what I mean."

We all broke out in fits of laughter at my words, maybe I was a little bit tipsy but I was having fun.

"You do know that he has a picture of you on his office desk? He's had it there for ages."

I almost didn't believe her when she said that.
