Five months later, the world seemed to be going back to normal in Julie Molina's eyes.

The hundreds of people who survived were all working together to rebuild the tarnished parts of the world. Julie enjoyed watching on tv as the Eiffel tower was being rebuilt in Paris.

That's actually where Alex and Willie are heading right now.

Alex was always seen at Angelica's grave. They never did find her body.

Alex stared at her gravestone as if it was going to move. He had brought flowers this visit (Hibiscuses, Angelica's favorite), and he began to watch as some bugs flew up to them.

Alex was so dazed that he didn't even hear the sound of a motorcycle roar behind him.

"Are you ready, hotdog?" The motorcycle rider asked.

Alex turned his head around and looked at Willie. It was times like these where he didn't want to leave- But he couldn't stay either. He needed to get away from this town and his family before it would be impossible.

Alex kissed his hand and placed it on top of the headstone.

"I miss you, Angelica," He said ever so quietly. "I'll be back though, I promise."

Neither Alex nor Willie knew when they would return, but they planned to, whenever that may be.

Alex reluctantly stood up and climbed on the back of Willie's motorcycle. He hated that death trap, but Willie loved it, and he wasn't going to oppose Willie's happiness.

Willie handed Alex a helmet and started the engine to the motorcycle. When the helmet was secure, Alex tightly wrapped his arms around Willie.

Willie started the motorcycle and drove off, driving through the town and to the airport, where they planned to start their journey together.

Back to Julie, she was thriving. A community college opened up near her recently, and while she couldn't go to Los Angeles Recording School with Alex like she originally planned, the community college had options to major in music.

There were times where Julie wished things played out differently- Of course she wished things played out differently. Alex wasn't the only one who was mourning Angelica.

Once Julie's Music History class wrapped up, she checked her phone immediately for texts. Ever since the cell towers came back up, she struggled with putting her phone down. It wasn't a new thing, she was addicted to her phone before the world ended.. But now she has a girlfriend to text.

come by the shelter? Flynn had texted.

be there soon

The shelter. This is the thing the Molina family is most proud of. The idea had come from Rose when they rescued the survivors (and people from the bunkers). A lot of them didn't have a place to go or a family. So, the Molina family (Including Flynn) decided to build a shelter for homeless survivors. They didn't build it per se, they rented a lease on the building, but they're proud of it. Rose works there full time, but Ray got a job to help pay for it.

They provide the survivors with everything they need. Clothes, food, toothbrushes, etc. They also use their house as part of the shelter too, but not often.

Julie's campus was only two blocks away; fortunately, it only takes her about twenty minutes to get there. As soon as she opened the door to the shelter, she had to back up because children zoomed past her. She couldn't help but smile.

Some of the survivors greeted Julie as she walked, and she politely waved back at them before heading into the back room. There, she was instantly greeted by Flynn.

"How was class, darling?" Flynn asked after pulling Julie into a quick but meaningful kiss.

"Surprisingly not that bad," Julie said. "How about things here?"

"Very fun! I did crafts with the kids. We made rainbows."

"How creative of you," Julie grinned at her.

Flynn shook her head. "Did you see the announcement Carrie made?"

Carrie was doing very well for herself. She ended up taking her father's place in the Government, making her the youngest politician in American history.

Caleb and Malachi stepped out a long time ago. No one knows where they went, and no one cares to look. The British Government searched for a few months, but they eventually gave up.

"That Congress is offering more free apartments? Yeah. That was nice of her." Julie sets her bag down in a chair as she begins to think about the first time the Government announced that.

Luke and Reggie moved in together into one of those free apartments. Reggie needed his own place to recover from his bullet wound, and Luke was happy to follow them. They come by the shelter every now and then, but they mostly stay inside their own bubble. Although, they text Julie constantly.

The only people Julie doesn't keep contact with from the whole ordeal are Nick and Mia. Nick went out to see if he could find any of his relatives that live overseas, but he never got a phone, so he basically fell off the face of the earth. Mia's mother Abigail went up to Canada, and Mia went with her. The ghosts from their pasts made them want to leave as soon as they could.

"It was. I'm glad they actually care this time around." Flynn agreed.

"It's probably only because Caleb is gone."

"Very true. Wherever he is, I hope they're making him pay for his crimes there."

Flynn hummed in agreement and walked over to Julie, throwing her arms over her shoulders. "Enough about men. Where do you want to go for our six months?"

Julie placed her hands on Flynn's hips. The gesture was so natural to her now. "Wherever you want, Sun girl."

"There's that new karaoke bar downtown."

"We're not twenty-one."

"We helped save the world. The least they could do is let us into a bar."

Julie laughed and kissed Flynn, and like always, the kiss was blissful oblivion. Julie was happy, and she hoped everyone else was happy too.

But somewhere off the coast of Jamaica, two brothers were not happy. They wanted their revenge, they wanted to take charge again.

And they planned to do whatever it took to do just that.

I want to thank everyone who has stuck with this fic. It's been a long journey, but I'm so grateful for all the comments and love this fic received. I don't plan to write a sequel to this (even with that opening ending) but you never know.

A big thank you once again.
