"Hey Rosa are you sure you're ok?" Lia asked Rosetta as she entered the room.
"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" Rosetta asked.
Lia looked at her unsure.
"Well it's just you look fairly pale and you don't look like yourself today," Lia said walking over to Rosa.
She jumped up and stood on the tips of her toes before holding her hand to Rosetta's forehead and trying to feel her temperature.
"You feel really hot are you sure you're ok?" she asked slightly scared.
"I'm fine," Rosetta replied in a slightly annoyed tone pushing Lia's hand away from her forehead. "Just leave me alone."
With that she stormed out of the room and started running up the stairs back towards her room. When she reached her room, she stopped and stared at her reflection in the mirorr on her dressingtable.
"Why am I doing this to myself?" she whispered as she looked at the stranger staring back at herself. "I've lost who I am... I'm loosing my mind due to a tiny error..."
She felt her legs crumple beneith her as she fell down to her knees and felt tears falling down onto her hands. She pulled her hands up and tried to wipe away hte tears but they wouldn't stop pouring down her cheeks. Her eyes were turning red as she woundered what she should do. She didn't want to get married to someone that she hadn't met propperly before. But there was no one she knew that she wanted to get married to either. She was only sixteen for crying out loud. Her seventeenth birthday wasn't for another week or two yet she was expected to get married?
After a minute or two, she stood up and tried to get her composure back. She sat down and looked at her reflection. She hadn't had one close friend for years since her parents started having her homeschooled. She had no idea how to interact with others. It was all so over-whelming. And they just expected her to be fine with it and go along with anything set up for her.
"Lady Rosetta?" a voice said from hte other side of hte door.
Rosetta froze. She couldn't let them come with her looking such a state but if she didn't reply then they'd think that somethign was severly wrong with her. She quickly picked up her hairbrush to make it look like she was just fixing up her look and nothing was wrong.
"Yes?" she said as the door opened.
"Miss you parents have just left and they said that they will next see you at the ocean ball," a maid said to her.
"The ocean ball?!" Rosetta asked suprised.
The last time that she had attended the ball was when she was only six. The ball was held every year and all nobles were inited to come and celebrate. Rosetta hadn't gone to the ball for ten years since she was never available on the day that it was held for some reasons. It was her parents who were in charge of whether or not she would be allowed to go and they decided not to let her and her siblings go since her parents hated partied and balls like this one and tried to avoid them when possible.
"Yes miss," replied the maid. "It is being held on the tenth."
"The tenth!" Rosetta said suprised.
That was only two days before her birthday.
"Your brother and sister are also invited and I've been asked to make sure that you and your sister go out and buy new ballgowns for the occasion" the maid said. "So tomorrow it has been arranged for you to go to the finest dress makers around."
"Hmm," Rosetta said thinking.
The maid bowed before leaving the room.
The ball? What reasons could her parents have of wanting her to attend it if she hadn't been to it for so long? She had no reasons to suspect anything as of yet and so Rosetta fixed her hair proppely before going back downstairs. She decided to go and apologise to Lia for snapping at her but she couldn't find her younger sister anywhere she searched.
"Is something wrong Lady Rosetta?" Ellie asked when she ran into Rosa in the corridor looking scared.
"Do you know where Lia is?" she asked.
"She left with Lord Mathew roughly ten minutes ago," Ellie said. "He said that he was taking her into town to go to the park."
"Oh thank you," Rosetta said before heading back upstairs to her room.
She spent the whold day listneing out for the front door so that she could apologise to Lia straight away when she got back but the dor never openeed. When Rosetta was lying in her bed that night, several different worries were all chasing around her mind as she woundered where they could've gone and if sometihng had happened to them.
Barely five minutes after she had fallen asleep, the front door opened and her siblings re-entered the building.
"Welcome back," Ellie said as the door opened.
"Where's Rosa?" Mathew asked Ellie.
"She went up to bed a few minutes ago," said Ellie. "She was increadibly worried about you and mistress Lia."
Mathew gazed up the stairs in the direction her his siter's room. He knew that she became increadibly worried when he wasn't there because he never told her where he was going. And he'd done the same today but it'd been orse since he'd taken Lia with him.
"I'm sorry Rose," he muttered under his breath.
