memory's magnetic force
snapped us togetherfor a moment--united
a trio once more'be cool'--though I tried
for a moment I measuredour friendship in inches
'tween my head and yoursthen slipped for a moment
to late Thursday nightsto ceiling bibles, scary movies,
to jokes on my heightbut the glue fell apart
as our eyes clicked togetherand time slipped between
all the cracks in the floorwhen he walked out the church
towards another adventurethere we were--in a moment,
a pair like before---
