memory's magnetic force
snapped us together
for a moment--united
a trio once more
'be cool'--though I tried
for a moment I measured
our friendship in inches
'tween my head and yours
then slipped for a moment
to late Thursday nights
to ceiling bibles, scary movies,
to jokes on my height
but the glue fell apart
as our eyes clicked together
and time slipped between
all the cracks in the floor
when he walked out the church
towards another adventure
there we were--in a moment,
a pair like before
