Icy cold gusts of wind. The air frigid and particles of ice twirl in the sky. It was a common occurrence here in Circhester, where snow and the cold weather made its home here. After a few runs in Route 9, I trained up my Pokémon to the ever so looming building in Circhester. The Ground Type Gym, hosted by the popular man himself, Gordie Makuwa.
Sluggishly, I trot back over to the Poke Center to heal up my Pokémon until a few ladies came rushing in. Not really paying attention to them, I kept my eyes and ears on Nurse Joy.
"Guys! He's here! He's heading over to the gym right now!" One of them squealed in joy. Another gasped and ran to their side.
"Wait really?! Hold on, let me get my phone out!" Knowing my fair share of information, they could only be talking about him. He did have booming fan base after all. Shamelessly, I was part of it.
"Thank you for stopping by, [Y/N]! And oh..are you perhaps going to the Gym Challenge already?" Nurse Joy questioned, handing over my precious pokeballs.
"O-Oh! Yeah, I am..kinda nervous.." About the battle and meeting the famous man himself.
Nurse Joy giggled as I grabbed onto the pokeballs. I placed all 6 of them on a small holder on my hip. Adjusting it slightly, I was ready.
"Don't be! I'm sure you'll do just fine out there..!" Nurse Joy commented, encouraging.
I thank her for her words as well as handling my Pokémon. Waving goodbye to her, I make my way over to the icy covered building. With my head hanging low, I couldn't help but flush brightly. Hopefully the cold weather could mask my flustered expression.
I couldn't help but take in what those people talked about. As much as I wanted to see him before my battle with him, converse and get to know him. Not as a gym leader but as a person. I know how bad that could be for his reputation especially from his fan base..yet I- No, I had to get my head in the game. No lolli-gagging, as much as I admire him..that'll have to wai—
Colliding right against someone, our shoulders pushed heavily against each other. We both fell backward as we stumbled onto our bums. I could hear a audible hiss from the person in front. As I was about to apologize, my words stopped short as I saw the person.
'White and yellow tinted hair, fashionable yet comfy looking coat, as well as the signature blue shades...I just bumped into G-Gordie..?!' My mind was spinning, I wasn't prepared to see him so soon!
"God hell..watch where you're—! Oh..." His eyes closed in on me, behind those blue tinted glasses..I could feel the tension rise. My cheeks burst in flames from the sudden eye contact.
"S-Sorry! I didn't mean to b-bump into you..! I-I'll be—!"
"Hmph..Gym Challenger [Y/N], right..?" Standing up, he pulled out his hand down to me with a rewarding smile. If looks could kill, I would've been a melted snowman by now. Nonetheless, I took his hand and hoisted myself up.
"Y-Yep..that's me..! [Y]-[Y/N].." HOW AWKWARD CAN YOU GET ME..?! YOU WERE JUST THINKING ABOUT THIS GUY A SECOND AGO, COLLECT YOURSELF DAMNIT!
With my thoughts screaming with agony, Gordie chuckled smoothly as his breath turned into a gust of cold air.
"No need to be so flustered, dear...Does my presence have that much impression on you..~?" He winked through his glasses. That would've been enough to crack me but I kept my cool.
"N-No..Yes! Wait no..whatever, I'm [F/N] [L/N]! I'll be your Gym Challenger for today and you better watch..I'm gonna win against you.." As threatening and cool as that sounded, my knees wanted to buckle and surrender just right then and there.
With no immediate response from Gordie, I immediately wanted to apologize and run for the hills. It wasn't long after that my stance and cold expression softened and wiggle profusely. After some time, a stifled puff of air came from Gordie. A struggling,"Pfft-!",came bursting out which lead him to full on laugh.
Watching as he grabbed other bystanders' attention from his ridiculous laughing, I stood there embarrassed beyond belief!
"Ooh..you're funny. For starters, I'm going to win and secondly.." With one fell swoop, he pushes his glasses upwards and closes the distance between us. With no one looking, he took full advantage of the situation.
Kneeling down to my height a bit, he brought his mouth near my ear. I stood there, frozen in place as I let him have his way with me.
"What a bold statement for you to say..bet you were buckling under the pressure, huh love..~?" With his thick accident invading in, he reeled back with a cocky smile.
With a move like that, it was super effective. My limbs weren't able to move and my face was heating up every second. I couldn't even dare look at him, in fear I would further my embarrassment.
"Good luck beating me, Challenger..~!" Flashing his infamous smile, he twisted around and walked over to the building. Left out to eat the fluttering snow, I was not completely level headed and fit to battle in such a state.
'Damn that smooth talker..'Bonus:
After becoming Champion...Breathing in the beautiful Galarian air, I rocked my feet back 'n forth. With all the dangers and goals completed, I sat on the bench..comfortable and relaxed.
"Why if it isn't Champion [Y/N].." A familiar voice ranged through the area.
Looking over to the stocky man, he smirks brightly as he readjusts his blue shades. Smiling towards him, I wave for him to sit down next to me. Startled by my kind offer, he took it nonetheless. We sat there in comfortable silence for a few seconds. Just looking at the towering buildings in Wyndon, the stadium, shops, and the huge pearly white tower. We took this moment to just really take in the scenery.
"What's the special occasion? I don't see you traveling here a lot.." I spoke abruptly. Looking as if he was lost in thought, he took a few moments to reply.
"Well wouldn't you like to know my dear Champion..?" He retorted back. I rolled my eyes but kept my smile strong.
"Actually I would..care to talk about it?" I offered, hoping this would break the cold exterior he put upfront. Afterall, unlike his mother, Melony, he was quite hard to talk to at times.
"Well since you asked..I'm just about to make my way to the stadium. Apparently someone requested a battle with me but of course, someone as great as me would be highly requested." With a smug expression, he boasted proudly.
"Yeah yeah, almighty one.." I sarcastically joked. His eyes twitched as his expression straighten at my words. With a serious tone and expression, his eyes shining through the shades.
"You could say that again..." Super effective.
Almost like deja vu, my cheeks heated up at the sudden change of atmosphere. As I was about to stutter out a response, he laughed boyishly. Flicking his shades upwards a bit to reveal his eyes, he blinged with enthusiasm.
"Works every time, right Champion..?" I swear one day I'll wipe that thirsty smile—
"S-Shut up! It just caught me off guard...!" Same old antics. He proceeds to flirt and tease the living shit out of me while I try to defend myself.
Though as the conversation died down, I pinched my lips together as I recall a certain memory. A memory that lingered throughout my journey.
"Remember when I first met you..before entering the gym..?" I asked hesitantly. He ran his pale hand through his hair as he turned to me.
"Of course! Why forget such a thing..~?" He teased, classic asshole.
"Hey! Uhh..well whatever, I was just thinking..." He hummed in response, awaiting my turn.
With an aching question in mind, I let loose a bit.
"Why did you..uhhh..-?" Almost like he knew of what I was asking, he interjected quickly.
"Flirt with you? Pfft...isn't it obvious? It was all part of my strategic plan! Though..I did..lose.." His energy running dry. It must've been devastating for him to lose that day.
"Cut the shtick, Gordie! I know it wasn't part of some plan..I mean you aren't that smart.." I jokingly nudge him, he gasped at my insult.
Hurting his poor ego, he huffed yet still kept his composure.
"Fineeee..since you're just sooo nice...but, ya' know how you don't see diamonds just lying around anywhere right?" An odd start but I nodded anyways.
"Well..you were like a diamond in the rough for me. Something you don't see everyday..I guess..whatever! You get the point..!" Standing up so hastily, he balled up his fist and stuffed them in his pockets.
As I was about to follow suit and ask him of what he meant, I caught a rare sight. Gordie's once pale skin was a flattery pink. Not to mention, now the weather can't be a possible excuse to hide it. I clicked two and two together and smiled evilly.
"Awww..is my Little Gourds no longer the smooth talker I thought he was..~?" I poked and danced around his bubbling body.
"W-Who said I stopped being that..?! Hmph..whatever, you'll regret saying that, Champion [Y/N]..~"•~~•~~•~~•~~•~~•~~•~~•~~•~~•~~•
