[ 3 ] - Subtle ~ Kabu x Reader

As I smiled endearingly towards the older man, he shot back with a grin of his own. Something that was dear to my heart.
Ever since beating the 8 Gyms and becoming Champion, I got to personally know more about Kabu. And oh man...when I tell you that this man is a gentleman, he's a gentleman. He's very thoughtful, truthful, and an honest sweetheart. He never ceases to bring a smile on my face. Over those few months I got to know him better, my emotions grew into something more. It was hard to pin down at first but..over time, it wasn't hard to identify these new feelings.
His gentle smile. His passion for battling. His soothing and calm voice. His personality—his everything! It was all perfect to me. Something I didn't quite see in the first place but I'm glad I do now. As of late, identifying these emotions..I became, well...obvious.

Basking in the warm heating sun, Kabu and I were sitting outside on some benches of Motostokes. Right near a cafe we frequently grab our drinks at.
"Nice day yet again.." Kabu huffed out, taking a swing of his drink. I absentmindedly smiled as I done the same.
     "Chipper today, eh? I could get used to that..~" I smirked flirtatiously, still keeping eye contact on the man.
     His eye brows raise at my words but he lets them fall back down as he turns over to me.
     "Well I mean, who wouldn't..?" He says in a relaxed tone. Not quite getting it, I push for an answer.
     With the Rookidees fluttering in the morning sky, people crowed into the occupied streets as they did their normal routines but...even with the whole world around us continuing by, I still couldn't help but fall for each word Kabu spoke of.
     "What I mean is that..I can't help it when I'm with you.." He takes a victorious sip as I widen my eyes to that.
     It wasn't the fact that Kabu was acting more...vibrant than usual. It was the fact that..he meant it. Knowing him, the words wash over me like a crushing wave. As I stare at him with teary eyes, he clearly started to panic.
     Placing his drink to the side, he started to wipe my tears off to the side. Staring blankly at him, I couldn't help but let my smile grow in size.
     "[L/N]! Did I say something wrong..?" He asked worriedly. I shook it slowly as I push his hands down.
     "I'm just..so happy! But you know..." Suddenly, I stand up in haste as I reveal my bright smile.
     "You didn't have to be so subtle with it..Kabu-san~!" I cheered happily.
     All he could do in return was smile along side me. Shortly after, he followed suit as he brought his hand to mine.
     "I guess I didn't..~"

BRUHH SOFJDISJSJSB I HAD SUCH A CUTE IDEA BUT THEN THE MORE I TYPED, THE LESSER IT MADE SENSE SO THEN I HAD TO SCRAP AN ENTIRE SCENE AND ISHDJDJDS
