"But why me?" Timmer asked the messenger, scratching his head.
"You are best I heard of" the messenger replied.
Reynor rested his crown on the self and sat beside Timmer. "Seven years and the King has not produced another heir?"
"It is against our moral to marry a next wife or adultery" the messenger said.
"But why can't he let his nobles decide whom to crown?"
"Because his nobles are the candidates for the crown"
"That's messed up" Reynor replied grinning and glancing at Timmer. "He has no daughter or any other sons? Not even a bastard son?"
"He had one bastard son but he vanished along with the prince, it was seven years ago"
"Can't yer people choose the leader?"
The messenger looked out of the window, fresh air kissed his face although the air was foreign to him. "Our Rahaj knows, his nobles corrupt the people, force them to choose only him. Rahaj knows innocents will die. That is why he call you, Crustonian King"
"Is it just me? Or some other King will join too?"
"Yes, two guests side by side with you. One is a Queen from Belgriya, your protector's home I assume" he said looking at Timmer.
Reynor glanced at Timmer. "How do ya know where he is from?"
"Where else can the green-eyed warrior be from? Rudner family, slaughtered by the King for practicing foreign occult"
" I assume Reynor would like to hear these stories later," Timmer said, scratching his helmet.
Reynor kept staring at Timmer. Silence did not last long. Reynor turned his attention to the messenger, once more. "One is the Queen and? Who's the next?"
"Leader of the Sky Blood" messenger replied.
Timmer startled and glared at the messenger, still, not even a blink. He slid his knife out of its sheath, the pointy edge poked the messenger's neck, just a little force and the knife could have gone inside. "You cannot be telling us the truth"
Reynor lunged out of his chair, his hands grabbed Timmer but couldn't pull him away. "Woah Woah, alright sit down mate, sit down. I don't need blood in me room and war in me kingdom"
"This man is lying. I know it. I think it is a trap" Timmer yelled, his knife still rooted in the messenger's neck.
The messenger, gulping, bracing his chair, his long lasted smile faded. "N-no, It is true. He has ag-agreed to arrive"
Reynor hauled Timmer away, after a lot of unsuccessful attempts. Loosening his fist, Timmer sat in bed. Reynor rested on his chair, gasping.
"So, what is with this leader of the Sky Blood?" Reynor asked.
"Son of the Gods" Timmer grunted. "They are just stories. Nothing is heard, not even their names, just stories. Their stories put shame to our gods, gods of every culture"
Reynor slid his head little back, widened eyes. "I never thought ya cared about gods"
"It is in his family blood," the messenger said clenching his teeth. "They worshipped a snake and sacrificed many innocent humans, believing, somehow, the snake will give them abilities"
Timmer took his knife and got up but Reynor pushed him back to the bead. "Enough of this already. Let's not talk about the details anymore. When do we leave, messenger?" Reynor asked.
