“So Shesh is the main reason for the murder of yer family?” Reynor asked. He had rested in his bed and Timmer had sat on the floor above some cushions. Timmer acquainted him of his scorn towards the Son of God.
“He is the cause of every major event in Belgriya” Timmer dabbled with his small knife.
Reynor seemed troubled, his forehead wrinkled hard. “But why did he order the killing of yer family? They were just worshipping the Serpent God”. Another question in his mind, he let out “Why would they worship the Serpent God denouncing their faith? What gods are even worshiped at Belgriya?”
Timmer was in the mood for the chatter, he didn’t held him behind. “Belgriya worships a single God, a woman who was born thousands of years ago. And if anyone worships anything besides their God, they mark it as an occult, they used to, I do not know the reign of Queen Julia”. He sheathed the knife inside his boot, “My grandfather travelled to Belgriya from Hairnipolis”. Reynor's eyes widened as he heard the name of his Kingdom, he didn’t interrupt. Timmer continued, “Life was hard there, food rarely grew. He had two sons, one was my father and next his elder brother”
Reynor exerted his body up, aghast look on his face. Knowledge of Timmer's origin would now haunt him till eternity. His jaws had dropped, he is making it up.
“Oh, don’t hit me with that face. I know the Valvors are the descendants from Hairnipolis … trust me when I say we are not blood relatives” Timmer let out before his King could throw words of doubt at him.
A little relief perhaps, Reynor breathed out and rested his pillar straight spine. The thought didn’t fall out if his unresting mind. Timmer being his blood relative, it was as possible as it was not possible.
“My grandfather adjusted to Belgrian religion, Jritl they call their lady” Timmer continued, staring at the wall, travelling in the past. “But my father, Ingrid Rudner, he never denounced the Northern Gods, worshipped them in secrecy. But one day…” he seized his voice, took in a huge gasp. “But one day, a man came to him and drove him insane”
Reynor's interest had fully been tangled in his protector's narration of the past, he didn’t agree with how Timmer seemed to have ended it. “Go on, tell me about the man and more”
Timmer wished not to go any further, yet he spilled what he had known. “All I know is he had cyan eyes, claimed to have come from Hairnipolis. I remember so distinctly, his name was Erik”
“What did he do to yer father?”
“My father walked in our house with the man, he said Erik showed him the Serpent God and our family was blessed by him” Timmer too drowned in his tales of the past. “He said we had to make a sacrifice, a sacrifice of some soldiers to send to the heaven's army. My mother didn’t agree but Erik showed her the Serpent God too, then he showed it to me”.
Reynor looked out of the window, he grinned watching the sky. “He showed ya the Serpent God?” his atheism kicked inside him, the tales of the gods didn’t sit well in his sanity. “Timmer, there is no such thing as God.”
“You have your reasons to say so, but I am just believing what I saw,” Timmer said. “And yes, my father kidnapped some soldiers, killed them and underwent the ceremony”
“And Shesh suggested the death of yer father?” Reynor questioned. “If I were a King, don’t take it to yer heart but I would kill someone who uselessly sacrificed me soldiers”
“No, the King had ordered our exile but the Son of their God, he wished to burn every one of our family alive” Timmer clenched his teeth.
