New Friend, New Feelings

~Chapter 1: No Other Options~

A/N: This story takes place in the Sonic Boom universe. The only difference is that Silver is mentioned (although not shown in the series, to my knowledge), and Amy is still just as obsessed with Sonic as her other versions are. Just wanted to clear up any possible confusion. Enjoy! :D

Amy happily skipped towards Sonic's house, not having a care in the world. She loved nothing more than to go and visit her Sonniku. His house wasn't large in size. It was quaint, but it had a nice charm to it that made it unique. This was just how Amy saw Sonic.

"Knock-knock" is the sound the door made as Amy cheekily knocked on the wood with glee. Slowly, the door creaked open, and out poked Sonic's head. Although Amy didn't notice it, he was a bit annoyed. Amy had done this every week for...well, right after they met, which was five years ago.

He put on a bit of a fake smile. "Umm...hey, Ames. What are you doing here?" he asked, even though he already knew "why."

Amy smiled, and gave Sonic a big hug. "Oh, nothing. I just needed to see your face again," she teased him, her grip getting even tighter.

Sonic awkwardly coughed as he lightly took Amy off of him. "Look, Amy," he said. "I know that you've always had a thing for me, but...I have a girlfriend," he admitted, almost scared to hear her response.

For a second, Amy didn't believe what she was hearing. Her mouth dropped in complete shock and her legs felt like two sticks of concrete. She finally found the courage to say, "You...what?"

Sonic rubbed his arm, slightly embarrassed. "Look, I'm sorry Ames, but I started dating Sally again, and I..." but before another word could come out of his mouth, Amy had already ran down the street, crying into her palms. She would've never imagined that Sonic would begin, or in this case, resume, dating any other person besides herself. She couldn't help but burst into tears as her whole world suddenly turned upside down.

Ever since Sonic saved Amy Rose when she was 8-years-old, she knew that she was in love with him. Well, she might not have known it at 8, but she did know that whoever he was, she was never going to leave his side.

And sure enough, Amy Rose kept her promise. Ever since that day, she didn't spend a single 24-hours without chasing Sonic everywhere he went, wanting to be with him all the time. She never wanted them to be apart. And as far as Amy's concern, their relationship had been perfect. Well...except for one thing: Sonic ran away from her. Every. Single. Time.

At first, Amy hadn't paid it any attention. But the older she got, now 13, she realized how useless it was to chase a person who showed no interest in you. This became the voice of reason that she was forced to follow, as she'd just found out...Sonic was taken. "What's the point?" Amy asked herself.

So, there she was, sitting on a rock, wondering who she could now possibly take interest in. She felt extremely squirmish on that grey, hard, awfully huge boulder. She had never, ever thought of the idea of being in love with someone besides Sonic, and just the thought of the idea was starting to make her sick.

She carefully flipped through all her options like quickly scanning the crispy pages of a mystery novel, just to see what it's interior provides. Wondering if it's worth your time.

The first male that crossed her mind was, surprisingly, Shadow. Amy had to admit, she and Shadow had always had a...special relationship. Sure, he was a loner who wanted to be alone, and cared about nobody but himself. That's what most of Amy's friends thought, anyway. But Amy had always found him rather...interesting. Of course, Shadow was almost an exact replica of Sonic, besides the color difference. So it would make sense that she would think of him first.

And of course, with Silver, it was the same situation. Although, Amy really appreciated his sweetness and innocence. Especially since she held a lot of the same characteristics. But again, being with him would be nothing but another obvious reminder of her blue hero.

"Nope," Amy said. You know the saying, "Desperate times call for desperate measures?" Well, now, Amy was starting to realize something: those "desperate measures," had a limit.

Then, she thought about some of her friends who are parts of Team Sonic. Well...besides Sonic himself, that is. 

Tails was sweet, but he was a little too young for Amy. Besides, she always thought that he would be cute with Cream. 

Knuckles, on the other hand, was rather handsome, but a little too, well, tough, and, um...how could she put his...dimwitted for Amy. Or at least, that's what Amy felt to be.

She suddenly realized that her chances of finding someone again were slim to none. So, she couldn't stop the tears that slowly leaked from the emerald orbs, as she sobbed into her knees. Cuddled up onto the large boulder, as the sun set in the ebony sky.

Also, I will likely post Shadamy, Sonamy and Silvamy stories in the future, but I wanted to make an OC for this particular story to be with Amy, since their aren't that many. See you soon! :)
