Chapter 23

~Arthur's POV~

I sighed as I left the college. I would never be going back, I had been living in my own house for the past few months, my parents helped pay for it. It was raining, weather that matched my mood. I had been miserable ever since Alfred left, I suppose he had been miserable too. I only blamed myself for what happened, Alfred had done nothing except witness the act of betrayal. The crippling loneliness had finally gotten to me, I dialled Alfred's number, hoping he would pick up.
"Y-Yes?" His voice was shaking, he must have looked at the caller ID and saw I was contacting him.
"I miss you" I whispered as I walked through the rain drenched streets, stepping in a puddle every time I put my foot down. I heard a beep down the phone and knew he had hung up. I sighed and decided to text him.

I miss you, I'm sorry. It was a mistake.
U cheated on me! I can't trust u cause u might do it again
I love you Alfred. I always have and always will. Please give me a second chance.
U promised you wouldn't hurt me and u did!
I love you! She meant absolutely nothing to me, I swear. I can't live without you, I miss your touch and words.
Then why the hell did u cheat on me!? U know what? I don't wanna know! I'm blocking ur number!

I put the phone back in my pocket and continued to my home. Although it didn't feel like home without Alfred. The rain got heavier so I decided to take a shortcut down an alley, normally I wouldn't dare go down the alley but at this point I didn't really care. The alley was dark and damp, stains were on the narrow walls and I held my nose, there was an awful smell coming from somewhere. I heard whimpering and crying, I looked around and saw Alfred huddled under a sheet of metal.
"Alfred?" I said slowly, not understanding why he would be here.
"Why are you here? Leave me alone" he said quietly, not looking at me.
"Please come home. It's cold and wet out here, you don't need to talk to me...just come" I said, outstretching a hand. After a moments hesitation he took my hand and hauled himself up. After a few minutes of awkward silence we arrived at my house. I unlocked the door and led Alfred inside, he already knew where everything was, he had moved in with me but went back to my old dorm when he had found out about me cheating.
"You can have my bed, I'll take the guest room" I said, placing my keys on the table next to the door. Alfred didn't say a word, he trudged up the stairs and walked into the guest room, ignoring my words. I sighed and went upstairs to my bedroom, it was right next to the guest room. I took off my shoes and changed before getting in the bed and falling asleep.
