~Arthur's POV~
I returned to my room and closed the door, I sighed and flopped onto the bed, closing my eyes. Soon enough I heard Alfred shuffle around, I'm pretty sure he went downstairs, I heard the stairs creak slightly and his door close softly. I tried to get some sleep but after a few moments of failing I heard a loud sob coming from next door. I got out of bed again and opened his door, I gasped but he didn't hear me, his back was facing me and I could see red lines on his arms. I shook his shoulder and he turned to look at me, his face was tear stained.
"Why did you do this?" I asked. He isn't reply, I washed and wrapped his cuts, sitting down on his bed once I was done. "I'm staying here tonight, I don't want you to be alone like this" he simply shrugged but I could tell he was happy I stayed. I got under the covers and he followed. I closed my eyes and inched closer to him, but he fell out of the bed. I looked down at him on the floor, he was fast asleep. I sighed and rested my head on the pillow again, falling asleep.
I woke up in the morning and leaned over the side of the bed to awaken Alfred. I nudged him slightly and he tensed up before opening his sapphire blue eyes.
"What's wrong?" I asked him.
"Nothing" he said, brushing it off.
"Tell me. We're supposed to be reconnecting" I said, my voice soft.
"Just a memory..." He mumbled.
"Of what?"
"Just...that memory" I knew what he was referring to and stopped asking questions.
"I'm going to have a shower" I said, getting up and carefully avoiding Alfred. As soon as I left the room I heard another loud sob, I went back in the room. "Please don't cry" I whispered to Alfred.
"I-I'm sorry" he said through the tears. I picked him up and placed him on the bed gently.
"You don't need to apologise, I'm the one that did wrong" I said.
"I gave you the cold shoulder! I should have paid more attention to you"
"No, don't say those things. We're past that now, legs not bring it up anymore. I'm going to have my shower now"
"Okay, hurry back" he smiled. I quickly had my shower and went back to the room, a towel around my waist.
