~Arthur's POV~
I was late! Dammit, how could I oversleep today? I needed to get to my English class quickly, I needed all the information I could get for the exams coming up in a few months. The worst thing was today was the last day I would have classes for 3 days. Damn, I'm never drinking again. I was finally outside my classroom, I opened the door and headed towards my seat at the back to find a pleasant-and attractive- surprise. There was a boy sitting at my desk, he was very nice on the eyes although I wasn't sure if I should think like that just yet, not after coming out of a relationship not a month ago. But, he was very nice, golden blonde hair with a little cowlick, glasses that magnified his blue eyes and his face...he looked shy and scared and it was adorable. I threw my antisocial behaviour out the window and introduced myself.
"Hello, I'm Arthur Kirkland" I said politely, sitting next to him. He seemed taken aback by my introduction.
"Hi...I'm Alfred F. Jones" he said nervously, his voice quiet. Alfred was short, slightly shorter than Alfred and he looked fairly skinny. The professor gave them tasks to do, I quickly wrote everything down, my pen scratched against the paper. I glanced over to sneak a look at Alfred, he was writing much slower and had a bandage that covered his right wrist, every time he moved his arm he winced in pain. It made my heart hurt seeing his facial expression.
"Are you okay Alfred?" I asked quietly, he looked at me and nodded.
"Yeah I'm fine" he returned to writing, picking up his pace slightly.
"Do you know anyone here?" I asked, I wanted to get to know Alfred as much as possible, it was difficult for me to look away from him.
"No..." He muttered.
"Neither do I. Would you like to have lunch with me? I think it's best if we became friends, us not knowing anyone and all".
"I suppose so" he said, his face lighting up ever so slightly. We worked in silence for the rest of the period, when the bell rang we walked to out next class together: math. We say in the back of the class, taking out our books and getting to work, we had things to do listed on the board. About halfway through the lesson Alfred got up to use the bathroom, I offered to write notes for him so he wouldn't miss anything, although when it had been 10 minutes and he still hadn't come back I got worried. Finally, with 15 minutes left of the lesson Alfred came back in wearing a hoodie, he wasn't wearing one when he left. Did he stop by his dorm and pick it up? Why?
"Where did you get the jumper?" I asked him as he say down, picking up his pen and began writing.
"I was cold so I went to my dorm and got it" Alfred said simply, his voice quivering like he was in pain. I didn't know what to think of it, he was being so quiet. Just before the bell went I noticed that something had started to show through his thin jumper.
"What's wrong with you?" I said as I gently tapped his arm. He flinched away and looked at me with fear in his eye.
"N-nothing!" He exclaimed but I didn't believe him, I started to pull up the sleeve and he tore his arm out of my grasp.
"Not here!" He said. I nodded and waited until the bell rang, when it did I packed my things quickly and dragged Alfred with me, taking him to my dorm room. I needed to know what was wrong and I would use any method to find out. I pulled up his right sleeve and gasped. It was littered with cuts and blood.
"W-What?" I asked, clueless, I knew what he was doing but I didn't want to believe it. Alfred just looked at me, his blue eyes full of pain.
"Why would you do this Alfred!" I cried. Even though I just met him I felt overly protective, because ever since he had died I wanted to protect the ones I loved.By me and mlphetalialuv
